The Brewer announcers maintained that Byron was available for last night's game. They also opined that the ball Castro fouled off of his knee looked eerily similar to that which fractured Yelich's patella last season...

Nice article and intriguing perspective on the upcoming draft...Looking around at some of the websites here are some other thoughts on the Twins #16 pick . Pipeline has the Twins choosing Luke Stevenson C North Carolina Flobaseball predicts MN will choose Steele Hall HS SS Alabama. Just Baseball forecasts MN taking Xavier Stevens HS 3B/OF Washington

The Cubs, Orioles, Brewers, Phillies, Braves...There would be a lot of interested teams I would imagine. The bullpen could be an option, but more end stage in my opinion. As previously stated in a post SWR did run out of steam last season and seemed to loose a bit of focus and sharpness with some of his selection of pitches / location. Simplification of repertoire may be in order in addition to sharpening on focused pitches. It may well be that a skipped start and mental / physical break would be beneficial. It seems a bit early to move this talent just yet - Either to the pen or to another team.

The Minnesota Twins Have a New Top 100 Prospect
madtowntwin replied to Jamie Cameron's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Would the photograph indicate he's "Filling Out" a little bit?? Loved the pick when he was drafted, but talk about the proverbial "String Bean?....Something to the tune of 6'6" 160#. Talent ceiling is off the charts, but obviously finger are crossed that the rest of his body can catch up to his arm. Some patience will need to be demonstrated as he develops...I suspect that most every ache and pain will be monitored closely. -
In regard to Soto's Tricep Tenderness....Much less concerning than the dreaded forearm tightness or soreness. He's literally a boy who throws like a man in that his musculature, ligaments, tendons, and other soft tissue are developing tolerance to the strain of throwing consitently in the upper 90s. It's most likely a tendonitis and given his physicality should heal without incident while working with training staff. Win Twins!!

In regard to Keaschall - I sort of get the injury cautiousness in that it involves the same arm, but not really...Bone and ligament are completely different in terms of the rehab / healing process. The fracture needs rest (splint) and stimulation - Given his age and athleticism the arm should heal fast and furious. It should have no impact in terms of his ligament damage and the TJ surgery. Training staff should be able to manage healing of the bone and maintaining strength / flexibility to the ligament. In terms of being injury prone - Come on...WAY early for that label. The guy was hit by a pitch for pity's sake....Win Twins!!

Twins 5, Angels 0: It's So Not Joever
madtowntwin replied to Hans Birkeland's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The lineup minus Buxton on a rest day appeared far from formidable yet Correa had his best day at the plate of the season. Agreed - Add Wallner, Castro, Lewis, and Keaschall to the mix....Larnach seem to be figuring it out - And if Jeffers could do the same...Joe's fastball was as strong as it's been since midseason last year and his sweeper was dancing. Topa threw 2 innings and looked like the pitcher we've been seeking since he was acquired. It's not even May yet....Win Twins!!- 30 replies

Get To Know Jeferson Morales
madtowntwin replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Nice article...The piece in the Star-Tribune made a Segura comparison in terms of build and hitting style. Of note in Grapefruit Action both Bader and France continue to perform well and Paddack threw another decent game against a fairly strong Ray's lineup. -

The Baseball Tragedy of Matt Canterino
madtowntwin replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
"This is a Twin's prospect I just can't quit on." Nor should any of us...But sometimes for whatever reason a player ends up trapped by an organizational vicious cycle. It may wise both for the player and said organization to help break that cycle and make a move. Eberson Castellano has gained reputation within the Phillies organization as a pitcher with a great deal of talent who struggles to throw strikes. It remains to be seen if new landscape and coaching staff can alter that scenario. Trade Canterino for Castellano for the sake of all involved. -
#33-C) Michael Carpenter. 20 year old LHP taken out of HS (Menominee Falls, Wi) in the 11th round of the 2024 Draft. Touching mid 90s with his fastball and nice arsenal of secondary pitches. I know, my Wisconsin Bias is showing again...Win Twins. Oh, and Joe Ryan looked pretty damn good yesterday against a fairly stacked lineup. I concur with the windy conditions at the park mentioned above. Having said that - Joe kept 'em all on the field!!

Speaking of Lee - Did you watch the game vs. the Yankees on ESPN yesterday.? Does he not appear to be of more muscular build?? He took a pitch out of the park with a very short and compact swing....Looks stronger. The Twins lineup bashed 4 Homers total. The rather muted batting lineup looked pretty comfortable against Cole. Is this reflective of the new hitting approach??

Zebby Matthews Leaves Spring Game with Apparent Injury
madtowntwin replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
The game was broadcast on ESPN...Looked like he tweaked his leg in minor fashion and his exit was precautionary. His stride as he left the field was smooth. The story of the game was Joe Ryan's return against a fairly loaded Yankee lineup. Ryan looked strong with a good mix of pitches and touching 96 mph. The other story was 4 HR hit by the patchwork Minnesota lineup. Win Twins!! -
20 Questions for 20 Twins Pitching Prospects in 2025

20 Questions for 20 Twins Pitching Prospects in 2025
madtowntwin replied to Jamie Cameron's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
21) Eiberson Castellano. Among this "Talented Twin's Twenty" does this gifted former Phillie's prospect have a Minnesota Snowball's chance of sticking to the roster? Can a deal be struck with Philadelphia who Spring Trains in nearby Clearwater?? Time will tell. Nice piece. Win Twins. -
I've never seen Zebby pitch in person, but have followed his progress and rise since being drafted out of Western Carolina...He already possessed a good deal of physicality at 6'5"(+) 200pounds and decent arsenal of pitches. Readers probably roll their eyes at my optimistic comparisons, but this one was a bit more "Down to Earth" - Bailey Ober. So much optimism in terms of that wingspan putting hitters off balance as that long limbed pitching motion uncurls toward home plate. It's been absolutely wonderful watching Mr. Ober progress through the system to the major leaguer we now enjoy. I've soaked up observations and reports of those fortunate enough to see Matthew's throw in person and taken heart in his potential. But 97 mph??!!! Wow - That's a whole new ball game....What have we here??!! Win Twins.
