    He was actually in New Zealand (have a team in the ABL now) where there are no lethal spiders or snakes (or lethal wildlife of any kind actually). And i know everyones first thought is opiods but they are very difficult to get here. New Zealand is a very remote island its pretty hard of to get Cocaine and Opiods through customs. Unfortunately things as small as Fentanyl have made this harder to stop though

    I think we should turn our attention to Greinke. We have a lot of salary coming off our already lower-than-last-year payroll. We should be looking to spend lots next season. Attendance and ratings are up, time to reward the fans. Minimal/no prospect loss. Moves the needle. No-trade clauses can typically be negotiated away. Improves bullpen by adding Perez/whichever starter. If the market really is as constipated as it seems then I could be swayed on Givens-types if only because they ultimately likely represent an upgrade, however small.

    They figure to add someone at the deadline probably, so maybe there is some advanced rosterlitics that say your guys stand a better chance not being claimed now than at the deadline.

    Remember him? Slip him through waivers? Jeez you guys are merciless. He had a good rookie season as a starter and then started last year great as well before getting injured. He had one bad month, his first as a reliever, and you guys are ready to cut him. He will be back in the pen, if not in Thorpe's place then sometime.

    Smeltzer wasn't even the headliner in that trade, I believe Raley was, and both for Dozier who was in very poor form at the time. What a trade.

    All of the top prospects at this level are trending down, and 2018 was already a bad year for Rochester, so I do worry a bit about the atmosphere of having so many top guys under a lot of pressure. I guess in a years time all the talent at A+ and AA will move up a level and solve that issue.

    The 'Twins aren't interested' comments from beat writers are usually qualified with something like 'unless the price comes down' which has always struck me as odd because of course the price will come down, no one is signing them.

    We have no money guaranteed next year (Cruz's minuscule buyout) and we are not in on Harper or Machado and that is really depressing. If not now, when?

    There is a shortage of quality QBs in the NFL, only like 15-20 guys can do it. If he's too short, let him take HGH, this is a crisis.

    Fair enough points about Rooker / Larnach. Cron was free though. So you wouldn't really be willing to trade either Rooker or Larnach for him; which in my mind makes them better "assets."

    Obviously the title is hyperbole, but... After seeing the retirement speculation and some national and local pundits weigh in... WELL??? Joe Mauer has HATERS. Could it be your neighboors? Could it be YOU!!! Sleep-walking-hating at 3 a.m! The proud idiots of twitter and facebook. There is no shortage of idiots for any subject. Could it be that national and local writers (including some of the named personalities from this site) are ultra-exposed on these platforms and have extrapolated an inaccurate snapshot of Joe Mauer sentiment from a small but vocal minority? Then exacerbate the problem by reporting how much Twins fans allegedly hate Joe Mauer? The silent majority stand with Joe!.... right?
