  1. I agree with a lot of your points. Between Forsythe/Escobar its a little hard to tell who is coming back so I just lumped them into generic FA signings. It was hard to put Drake on the list when he hasn't given up a run yet, but I am leaning on his 4 years of mediocre service time and my ingrained sports pessimism. I know they just traded for De Jong but he strikes me as kind of a throw in for that trade. Nick Anderson is a tough call, but actually on second look Andrew Vasquez is dominating and left handed, seems like an easy thing to stash on a major league roster, we may need to protect him. Surprised he doesn't appear on any prospect lists?
  2. My very quick take: Gone -14: Mauer Forsythe Wilson Morrison Santana Belisle Granite Field Astudillo Grossman Slegers Magill De Jong Drake Duffey / Curtiss still have options for now, but can be removed if needed. Austin is out of options so if they get desperate and need a spot, but i think he will make it as a platoon guy. Added R5 +5: Graterol Gordon Wade Alcala Arreaz Bard got returned for a reason. Reed passed by all teams for a reason. Think Anderson/Vasquez will fly under the radar. 1B are rarely taken so I don't see any need to add Wiel. Added FA +9: Mauer (Re-sign) Castro Pineda R5 pick Five free agents
  3. What is the contract situation on a guy like Drake? How.many years of team control do we have?
  4. I'm okay with this but I wonder why the Twins wouldn't take what the Brewers gave the Orioles for Schoop? EDIT: nevermind, Schoop has another year of team control
  5. Dozier is hitting .278 / .350 / .611 in July and is notorious for his second half finishes, he has decent value.
  6. I know Lewin Diaz has been struggling lately but this seems excessive
  7. Underslot I assume? Twins looking to go shopping for free-falling talent tomorrow?
  8. Better yet the ten day clock doesn't even reset, the days before the call up still count: https://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/26th_Man_Rule
  9. Yes its an uncapped league but at some point the money does matter, if it didn't you'd have big clubs going around throwing down tens of millions of dollars for all the comp picks. Don't forget, cash can also be converted back into prospects.
  10. Hughes for Ramirez. Bad contract change of scenery deal.
  11. Do you think the Twins are ready to cut bait on Hughes and his salary?
  12. That is really interesting. Does the military pay better than the minors? Maybe you'll see some minor leaguers enlisting!
  13. Well I thought Enns was the better prospect overall as Magill has bounced around a lot already, and since they were basically just throwing arms at the problem I don't see why they wouldn't just use Enns, even if he is a starter. I'm not too terribly torn up about it though.
  14. I wonder why Myles Jay is getting starts at AAA while Gonsalves and Littell are stuck in AA.
  15. Eduardo Escobar builds on his numbers from the end of last year and becomes a starting 3B for someone in 2019.
  16. Surprising that it doesn't replace any of the years left on his super cheap contract. Won't get to test free agency again until he is 35.
  17. You could add half a run to Lynn's ERA and he would still have the best one on the team... but his FIP was high last year so lets not bother... come on guys.
  18. Every single player on an expiring contract should be saying these things. Simple negotiating tactic.
  19. Man imagine putting up a 1.99 ERA in your rookie season (Busenitz) and not being favored to make the team out of spring training. And then imagine posting a 4.50 ERA across 21 starts in the AL in your rookie season (Mejia) and not being considered a lock for the rotation next year. This game is too hard man.
  20. I'm skeptical that bullpen cars would even be noticeably faster than the reliever just jogging in. Twins solved this years ago in the metrodome by having the bullpens FRONT AND CENTER BABY.
  21. Advanced metrics must clearly pinpoint Feb 22 as the best day to sneak someone through waivers.
