    How did Santiago not end up on a contender when the market for SPs was so thin this year? He looks pretty solid. Obviously trade will depend on how Meyer pans out, but I think the Twins got enough to pull the trigger.

    I realize hindsight is 20/20, but if we had signed Torii two years ago instead of the Tigers, he'd be wrapping up his time here, having filled our outfield in a genuine time of need, and having already mentored Hicks/Arcia to whatever effect. Is that worth 2 years/26 million? Seems like a better value then our current 1/10.5 deal. I'm not saying mentoring is all Hicks/Arcia need, but I think there is a legit benefit and if that is what we are now paying for, couldn't we have spent the money two years ago and they'd have been magically mentored into professionals by now?

    He has excelled with a small market team and a talented farm system. The Twins provide both and are currently manager-less.

    It feels like this article has popped up every one of the last three years. What ends up happening is players show flashes of brilliance but have an overall average or below average year and you start the next year with the same questions about the same players and the same article advocating for a question answering year. It's a vicious cycle.

    If Suzuki started hitting .180 tomorrow is there anyone that really believes he could bring it back to .300? Gotta trade him while his value is so high.
