  1. Chief remembers Woodstock. That was the year he qualified for Social Security.
  2. Not quite sure I concur about the music, but it may be the “atmosphere” around me when I heard their music.
  3. Save this comment for a day when Jeffers would be a viable option. There’s a day game tomorrow and Vázquez is going to catch one of those games. The backup catcher would be starting one game on somewhere between 25 and 30 teams.
  4. Looks like Bibee got squeezed on one pitch to Vázquez, but he’s been all over the place.
  5. Gray pitches around a one-out walk. Julien gives me heartburn when he’s in the field (double clutch throw).
  6. Well, technically he’s on the right side of 30. The Twins gave him an incentive-laden contract, which would seem to account for the injury history. It seems that the knee and hip miseries are more chronic. Perhaps if they were convinced those injuries would continue to dog him, they wouldn’t have extended him.
  7. The Twins can really take a stranglehold on the division with another win, but today's victory pretty much makes both the current road trip and a fifteen game gauntlet a success. Given the season-long frustration of not quite putting series and opponents away, it won't surprise me if they return home with only a four-game lead.
  8. What’s the Twins’ record for runs in one game. I know it’s in the 20s.
  9. This is the kind of stuff that negates the importance of run differential.
  10. López is probably done w/ 6 innings, 1 run. Only three strikeouts but a whole bunch of ground balls.
  11. C’mon Pablo! I don’t want to to think about historic comebacks.
  12. I think he hit it harder than his homer.
  13. In my defense, my phone didn’t record the message as sent. I was posting from the next-to-last page of the thread.
  14. I’ve said this before—Royce (despite his injuries) has a chance to be what we were hoping for Buxton to become.

  17. I’ll start seeing how possible opponents are doing after the Twins win a game in Cleveland.
  18. Yes, the Twins need to sweep to have the tiebreaker advantage. They are 4-6 in the first 10 games. Taylor on IL, both Castro and Stevenson on the active roster I believe only López has pitched. Giolito makes his first start for the Guards today.
  19. I know it’s a game thread, but here’s some math. If the Twins win all three, they are up eight games and own the tiebreaker. To quote a former poster “season over” for Cleveland and the Twins can make post-season plans. Win two of three and it’s a six-game lead. Guardians on life support—Twins thinking about post-season roster. Win one of three—four game lead and the Twins remain overwhelming favorites but they have to take care of business. Lose all three and things are serious. My prediction is the Twins win two of three and the Twins are in control with 22 games to go.
  20. Looks like both teams are going with their best lineup available.
  21. I think Larnach is on the trade block in the off season. There are better prospects getting close to the majors and I also believe Max Kepler will be back in 2024.That isn't going to leave any place for Trevor unless there's an injury. He's had three partial seasons and has failed to secure major league status. It's getting late for him. I also like Larnach, but his production just hasn't been there. Of course, an injury could create a place for Trevor and he might thrive.
