  1. Jax edges back towards the Circle of Trust.
  2. Polanco has two team options available correct? I don't think it would be a bad idea to pick up the first option and look to trade him for the right offer. As far as him being a super-sub, the only position where he is close to average defensively is second base. With the supposed availability of Lewis, Correa, Julien, Miranda, Lee and Kirilloff, there really aren't enough at bats for all the younger players.
  3. I just saw that López is starting tonight and Gray tomorrow and they are going with Keuchel on Sunday. I'm going to the game on Sunday and wanted to see a winner.......chances diminish when your starter has an ERA over 9. Oh well! These are games that the Twins absolutely need to win (2 out of 3 anyway). Pittsburgh has slumped lately, but it looks like they are building something.
  4. I’ve enjoyed this game and just to make it more interesting, I’ve tried to include Twins or ex-Twins in every square. Yesterday, I used Steve Carlton as a Phillies All-Star and today C J Cron as a Rockie with a 100 RBI season. A couple days I used Ruben Sierra as a Texas Silver Slugger and Bret Boone as a Mariners’ Silver Slugger. If anyone wants to do the same, here are some Twins who played for a lot of teams: Terry Mulholand, Mike Morgan, Fernando Rodney and Lucan Hernandez.
  5. The ball took a weird hop and Baddoo and Greene are really fast.
  6. Okay, reverse jinx thing didn’t work.
  7. Jax hasn’t had a clean inning in a while.
  8. Hard to repeatedly trust Pagán in these high leverage situations.
  9. I’ll keep being critical when the reverse jinx quits working.
  10. Surprised they are giving Maeda the fifth.
  11. Maeda will probably be pulled at this point. 80 pitches and plenty of base runners.
  12. Hey, more hits than last time they faced this guy!
  13. Too many pitches out of the strike zone for MaeKen.
  14. Greedy--without the pickoff, it would have been a crooked number. Realistic--hey we got a run off a guy we've struggled to hit.
  15. Julien may have made the most outs on the bases since he's been called up.
  16. Cabrera's last AB against the Twins will not be a ten hopper up the middle turned into an out. He'll get four more chances to add to his totals.
  17. Day game after a night game. I think that is the reason Jorge is DH and Correa and Taylor are not in the lineup.
  18. Farmer is not signed for 2024. He will be in his final arbitration year. The Twins could non-tender him or trade him, if they choose. Farmer's situation will be quite similar to Gio's (this year) except that he'll be coming off a much less productive season.
  19. Agree on all points, but hope that Jax can work his way back into the Circle of Trust.
  20. While I agree that the '87 Twins and '23 Twins is not a good comparison and that lack of recent postseason success has soured many of us, I still think that good points were made. At the start of the season, no one was picking the Twins to win 100 games and not many were predicting much more than 85. They have overachieved in run suppression (pitching and defense) while underachieving offensively. Some players have taken a step forward, while several have not. That is the way baseball usually goes.
