    I tend to think they overachieved based on the available talent most of the season. This isn’t a team full of stars. Having said that, I won’t be shocked if Rocco is dismissed. I also won’t be shocked if he’s back next year. My perennial question, as always, is who would do better? Not any of us, that’s for damn sure.

    I could see Zebby and 27th man starting the DH, with Pablo and Ober going T-W. Irvin or Headrick may get a start late in the week. This all assumes optimistically that a wild card spot is locked before the last day.

    I seem to recall something Rod Carew said; when he’d find himself in a slump (yeah, it happened) he’d work harder on bunting for hits. Find a way to get on even when stuff isn’t working. That’s why he’s in the HOF.
