    My honest assessment is: they look pretty evenly matched, only one will make it to the playoffs, and whichever one that is will be a heavy underdog against the likes of New York or Houston. And both teams know this.

    Just a quick glance through this list tells me many people do not quite get what the current state of professionalism is. In the tech industry, this kind of thing happens all the time. Even non-compete clauses get negotiated around. Beyond that wishing him the best. Sounds like a nice raise.

    As I recall, Cory Koskie was not a good 3rd baseman when he started. He got better. It's been known to happen.

    I wonder if there is data to normalize this against how defenders are placed in the various shifts that are employed? Maybe there are range issues because batters are hitting ‘em where they ain’t.

    Seems to me he’s getting a shot. I remember with Polanco he was up and down for short bursts for a couple of seasons, despite hitting pretty well when getting those opportunities.
