  1. Still waiting for Ricky Nolasco's 3-game hot streak with the Twins, on a par with Perez's.
  2. Sanó has a minor league option remaining, if they choose to use it in the way puckstopper1 suggested.
  3. I think if luke had included the word "then," as in "slumps and then sulks," the intent would have been clearer. At least, that is how I took it on first reading.
  4. You're saying that when he's not throwing a clunker, he's good/solid, not electric (or other superlative)? That's pretty faint praise, if so.
  5. It needs to go, then. "We Have Tickets"??? That seems like a minimum level of competence expected when running a team. Did they hire RandBall's Stu as their ad agency, using Falvey's middle-school nephew to do the graphics?
  6. I don't own an Internet device, so I was unable to read this article. It probably sucked, anyway. Usenet was so much better.
  7. Stats are useful, of course, but early in the season I thought Reed had good movement on his pitches. By the time his stats had gone bad, his pitches were either straight or else not for strikes. That's my subjective recollection. I assume that "something" happened, whether or not he immediately went on the DL* right away. * I know it's IL now. It's 2018 I'm talking about.
  8. What the heck were you looking for when you ran across this old article?
  9. Hey! Next time, mark the subject line with "SPOILERS!!!" or something. You just ruined my weekend, chump.
  10. Gotta find a team thirsting for lots of players needing 40-man space. And yeah, a rebuilding team might fit that description to a tee.
  11. Is Kirilloff eligible for the Rule 5 Draft next December? If not, then that's a good reason to not add him to the 40-man roster, unless you feel absolutely certain he is ready to face major league pitching. The extra option year you "gain" is just a wash, compared to just not starting the options clock yet, if you think in terms of his 2022 or 2023 or 2024 seasons - the ability or inability to option him will be the same in those seasons either way. I guess we're all assuming he's a lock to be major-league ready, which colors our thinking on this. But angling for an extra option year is letting the tail wag the dog, isn't it? 40-man slots are precious. You don't use one merely to give a promising kid a speculative look-see, because then you can't easily remove him in favor of someone else.
  12. Reed is not on the 40-man, so almost certainly he will have to wait until the FO makes a decision that some current player simply can not be salvaged. It's May now, so that time may come soon.
  13. The present plan surely is that Cruz will be here in 2020. That means just 2021 for a DH'ing Sano, before a decision has to be made regarding his impending free-agency. Ugh, this isn't working out anything like we all had envisioned. Also, I'm not too sure his perceived 100-120 game ceiling has very much to do with his being a position player, based on past injuries.
  14. I already used up my Nathan Fillion GIF quota for the week, sorry.
  15. Wait, that's not the Antarctic Blue Super Sports Wagon with the C.B. and optional rally fun pack. Brian, isn't that what you told us you were getting? This looks like Metallic Pea.
  16. That's all well and good, when playing bad teams like the Orioles. Good teams like the Astros have a bad habit of dictating where the game comes (and goes). Here's hoping he improves on his marks in Houston last week.
  17. Stew Thornley, who is one of the Twins' official scorers. I had him in mind when I hedged on the case when the runner is caught leaning.
