  1. This could be the first instance of a full-fledged Article at TD earning the writer a coveted Warning Point from the moderators for trolling, but I will have to check with my colleagues... Nah, nah, it's just Satire, and well executed. Good job!
  2. Yes, if there's anything that will keep the fans home in droves, it's anticipation of a win.
  3. All right, you asked for it. Mantis accidentally chops down Groot with a martial arts move, and this lame ending results in poor box-office which kills the franchise. Hope you're happy.
  4. How many minutes did you spend proofreading that visual before posting?
  5. The source I rely on says he has 3 years and 66 days of service time. I forget what being on the IL does to service time - if it counts, then he'd need to spend 2+ months in the minors, and then there are probably arcane rules on top of that which I'm not aware of. Bottom line for me is to not try to play that game on him ... but who knows? (Well, FalVine know.)
  6. This is the obsessive attention to detail that I can only aspire to. Kudos.
  7. I didn't know another Avengers movie would be coming out. And they're moving forward with the Star Wars series too? C'mon, publishing this article ruined the surprise, you jerk.
  8. He was added to the 40-man in November 2014, but I THINK his short stint in Rochester in 2016 was injury-related and was not done by exercising an option. He played not at all in AAA in 2017. So I think the exercises were only 2015 and 2018.
  9. I still am. Unfavorably, now. Likewise to Ross Barnes, Rogers Hornsby, and on down to Teddy Ballgame, Sliding Billy Hamilton and (!) the Mets' Jeff McNeil at #14 all-time in BA with 100 PA.
  10. I have to believe that this was always the plan, when the 3-year contract was signed. Plans rarely work out exactly, and the injury ruined the second year of this particular plan, but it's nice when the overall intent seems to pan out.
  11. Seeing that the Rochester game was rained out leads me to believe that only a few HR were hit this time.
  12. Crap, I forgot the baserunning gaffe and how it factored in. Except for facts, my post was spot-on.
  13. Minor correction: the pitcher's spot was to lead off the Twins' sixth, so in a 1-0 game there might have been a pinch-hitter regardless, since it looked like our starter had run out of gas. Despite the one-hitter, that's what I'd have done, after an unsightly fifth that he had every likelihood (at that crucial moment) of staggering through unscored-upon. If Odo doesn't walk the pitcher but instead records that third out, he's done, but has his Quality Start, and the manager can proceed with his game plan. (Which probably included Perez coming in next, so maybe a loss was in the cards anyway.) No manager's game plan includes "what if my guy walks the pitcher when the chips are down."
  14. I suppose a hallmark of good satire is the number of people it inadvertently lures into genuine conversation. Maybe that's even healthy.
  15. Target Field when asked for comment sniffed, "Joe Mauer left that Teflon-topped, Heftybag-decorated hussy for me. 'Nuff said."
  16. I keep telling myself that no one cares to know my inner dialogue, but I still can't help doing it.
  17. Astudillo breaking yet another unwritten rule of baseball or two, after hitting homers in the Venezuelan Winter League:
  18. I'll have to go locate my 3-D glasses in order to properly view that Rob Friedman video.
  19. Yes, although it is out of date. There was a documentary made some years ago concerning the next stage, which I believe is our Willians's lineage. You may remember seeing footage of him flying around the bases that one time last year.
  20. A wahoo is a fish, related to mackerels. The team chose blue for local reasons. The Pensacola Bay Area is the official home of the Blue Angels.
