  1. I'm afraid we are stuck with Paddack. The Twins don't know how to unload players unless we want someone worse in return. Hopefully, Paddack will come back & give us something for a return.
  2. That's how things look like. Where do our catching depth rank? Very low! Olivar looks the best & has the tools to be a very good defensive catcher but he's not being developed into one, actually he's not good. Cosetti won't stick at catcher he hasn't been hitting at AA.
  3. I still prefer straight robo-ump over having a challenge system.
  4. Resist & just say no!!!!!!! Lopez, Ryan, Ober, SWR, Festa & Matthews. You're not moving Paddack or Dobnak, Moving Vazquez would be suicide. We were lucky that the Twins didn't have DeSclavani limping out on the mound this season why would we want him back to take priority over our promising young prospects over the season? No way, that's ridiculous IMO!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Let's get rid of instant replay & be totally dependent on the human element. It's foolish to trust umpires' frail humanity. especially when so much is depending on it. I prefer fair & impartial robo ump any day.
  6. Catching is a grueling position, Jeffers was in 96 games last season & has 92 games so far this season. Jeffers isn't a defensive catcher, he's a hitting catcher. He really has to work hard to become an average defensive catcher. All these innings has paid a toll on Jeffers. Many clamored about Jeffers getting more innings, I advocated that he should get less so he can keep up his hitting & catching metrics. On the other hand Vazquez gets more into the game, the more he plays. Therefore the improvement in his hitting. We should take advantage of that & tell fans that Jeffers has a sore foot & give him a break periodically to maintain his hitting & catching metrics.
  7. LAD wanted to flip Margot that they received in the Glasnow trade. Although Twins don't like to flip unneeded players they welcome other team's garbage. Martin was MLB ready but needed playing time & be handled as a rookie with kit gloves. But Margot got all the easy LHPs duty away from Martin. Worried about not enough RHH bats we ended up with an abundance where (RHH) Martin & Miranda sat against LHPs. Rookie Martin who predominately faces RHPs has comparable batting stats as veteran Margot who faces predominantly faces LHPs. Besides taking away easy LHPs ABs away from Martin, Margot has also taken a roster spot from Keirsey (CF). Besides bringing a high upgrade at CF, hot Keirsey would bring a hot LH bat where the Twins have desperately need against the majority RHPs that we face, Keirsey's call-up is well overdue but he's sitting at AAA because of Margot.
  8. Hi Tom! Good to have you back! IMO w/o Buxton where we are really shorthanded is prime CF. Martin is fine but he's still new to the position & like Castro at SS, I'd prefer him not to play there for an extended amount of time. Margot? He shouldn't be playing there period. So why not bring up hot (LHH) Keirsey who has manned CF for years? His call-up is long overdue & Julien is still striking out a lot & we have players who can cover 2B at the MLB level. It'll be very interesting how Beltre will respond in the states.
  9. Jax's consistency & dominance is very welcomed with Duran's stumbling. Maybe Duran can learn from Jax.
  10. You might be right Gregen, & I respect your opinion about Miranda this season, where I'm looking at both their entire career at 3B. More than likely Lewis isn't 100% this season which affects his defense, Hopefully, Lewis will improve & become above average at 3B. Yet I also like Miranda at 3B.
  11. When a player is graded as average that means he is able to make the plays that an average player can make. I agree that talking about transitioning Lewis off 3B shouldn't be an issue right now. Lee is a potential All-Star 3B but Lewis is the heart & soul of the team talk about disturbing him now is silly. Lewis is still a better 3Bman than Miranda. Grant it that 1B isn't as easy as many may think yet many defensive deficit players can get by there. IMO too much credit & playing time has been given to Santana instead of Miranda. 1B under Santana has been close to the least productive team position of the Twins, according to WAR. The priority at 1B is slugging not defense.
  12. It's nice to dream. If this did happen, odds are the Twins would come up empty again. Chances are better that our competitors KC & BOS could come up with an Eovaldi, Swerzer, Robertson or Kirby. You stated that BOS is cutting, IMO BOS could come up with the money faster than MN. Being realistic I'm secretly hoping that TX doesn't do anything like this because that could put KC & Boston in a position to overtake us & send us home early.
  13. Varland did what he was supposed to do. Give the rotation a good breather. Went 6 and keep us in the game. Twins' getaway day lineup with poor ABs didn't strike fear in the hearts of KC. Ragan had an easy day.
  14. Of course not. My point is you don't need to have power to be an asset which was stated. If you don't like how Martin plays the OF or how he hits. Don't blame Martin, blame those who kept playing him at SS & trying to mold him into a slugger, instead of letting be himself & see our need for him in the OF sooner. Martin is a very athletic player & IMO he doing a great job under the circumstances & I can see that he can be a great asset for this club. If patient with him we'll see great dividends. Who knows how high his ceiling is?
  15. Yeah! Just like Rod Carew except Martin is a much better 2Bman. You don't have to have power to be an asset. Martin can eventually develop power.
  16. Here comes Richards to save the day
  17. Ragans is weakening, let's pound him! but good ABs
  18. Come on guys you gotta make em count
  19. Nothing against Julien but Keirsey has been long overdue for a call up. I think they're afraid he might show up Margot. Which wouldn't be hard to do.
  20. Where do you get that I ever said to keep Festa & Matthew in AAA? & overload Hill, SWR, Lopez & Ober with Varland in the rotation? With Hill in the rotation, we'll be free to put Varland in the BP & evenly distribute innings to keep all arms including Festa & Matthews fresh & healthy. Our objective now isn't who'll start the elimination game in the playoff (that'll work itself out, whether it's a BP game or other). It has to be to nail down a playoff berth by adding to all our options on the table not to limit them, when things don't work out the way they say it will.
