  1. Thanks again Nick for your week's review. It gives us a broad picture of where we are going. I'm of the small camp of easing rookies, new acquisitions & returning pitchers from the IL into their roles. So I wouldn't put Steward in that high leverage right away. Thielbar has been adequate in his mop-up role but as his trade-mark curveball isn't as effective as before, I don't trust him, Okert or Funderburk in higher leverage situations. So the easiest & maybe most pressing trade target is a LHRP which we could have resolved a while ago by locking up effective, cheap & multiyear AJ Puk. As I assumed (MN) Gonzales's stock & ranking has been dropping & will continue to drop. I advocated to trade him this offseason to fill our most gaping need. Holding unto him makes no sense. Our rotation has been impressive but we still need at the very least a promising 5th SP to go along with the LHRP. Return of some our key players has been very crucial in our DET series & future series in our battle against CLE for the Division & even our wild card spot isn't a lock. Correa is close & his return is most welcomed because like the last time Castro has been overwhelmed at the extended time at SS, affecting him both defensively & offensively. While Vazquez has been getting better the longer he plays, Jeffers has been getting worse. I heard on the DET broadcast that Vazquez hits very well against DET something like a .350 BA. I'd think according to the Twins' analytics they'd give Jeffers a break with DET.
  2. I thought he was put thru waivers when he was taken off the 40-man but I could be wrong. I hope you are right.
  3. IMO Ryan pitched a quality game- 6 innings, 3 runs & 8Ks. This probably wasn't Steward's best situation to ease back into MLB, especially with Okert relieving him. Staumont proved himself again. A disappointing game.
  4. That's tough not score with Ryan a fly baller & no out
  5. You caught it before I could change it, You're quick
  6. I think Correa has better instincts to get to the ball.
  7. OK Ryan you've got a cushion let;s keep it
  8. Hope Skubal has a poor outing against the Twins
  9. I truly hope so but if DET trades Skubal (I doubt it) it'll be after this game.
  10. Dobbie has merited his chance to ascended to MLB again in this recent decent run. IMO the Twins no longer see him as a long-term addition. So to put him back on the roster, only to DFA him & possibly lose him while still on the hook. Many teams could use him long-term including the Twins, so if the Twins aren't going to bring him up they should actively shop him. Yet again they might bring him up & claim that he is as good as any trade deal.
  11. I'm surprised that fans aren't all over Buxton for missing that very catchable flyball. It's not like he's a rookie learning a new position.
  12. IMO a healthy Keaschall is a ridiculous waste of defensive talent at 1B. But leave it to the Twins to do just that.
  13. I trust the process with Raya, In the long run, it'll pay dividends, The piggy-back with Morris proved a success
  14. Good article, Theodore. "Lovin himself knows that Matthews will continue to rise to each challenge that is brought his way." "Lovin himself" is the key. (Sorry for the pun, I couldn't resist.) 🤭
  15. Great game! Overall Pablo looked really good. Vazquez looked confident at the plate. Lee was being Lee. Let's bring this to Skubal. Maybe we can hold off on that hitless PH record for another day.
  16. For some reason those articles have vanished, maybe it was a sub-topic to a bigger topic. The source of that article was Aaron Gleeman- The Athletic I've never heard that story before, I doubt its veracity.
  17. There was a lot of Twins' talk about Kiriloff starting his off-season conditioning in Jan/ '24 & what shape he'd be in to start the season & limit his duties to 1B/ DH. Funny I couldn't find any sign of news pertaining to his condition prior to spring training. Only thing I found was a Rotoballer 8 months agoMinnesota Twins first baseman/outfielder Alex Kirilloff will likely see more time at first base in 2024 in an effort to limit injuries. Of course, he is also an option at designated hitter. The 26-year-old has a history of shoulder and wrist injuries and has appeared in just 192 games across three big-league seasons, including 88 in the 2023 campaign. That said, he was productive when healthy as Kirilloff hit .270 with 11 home runs and a .793 OPS across 319 plate appearances a season ago, production that graded out 20% superior to the league average, as per his 120 wRC+. Given his positional versatility and production in 2024, Kirilloff could be a sneaky late-round fantasy option despite a history of injury troubles.--Brenton Kemp - RotoBaller
  18. CO has ruined many pitchers because HRs fly out of there. Ground ball (GB) pitchers like Dobbie limit HRs, a type of pitcher that typically do better there.
