  1. Could you be specific about the “other worthwhile options “?

    Enjoy the Season!!
  3. I bet the Twins see Cave as a backup outfield option for next year.
  4. I only watched from the 8th inning on…but. Watching and trying to understand Rocco’s late inning maneuvers is painful. For instance, bottom of ninth, KC has a right hander on the mound, Twins have 3 left handed batters on the bench, Arraez, Gordon and Cave. Due up is Rooker, Kepler, Jeffers. Rooker gets to bat and makes an out, Kepler makes an out. So bottom of ninth with no one on and two outs, Gordon is sent for Jeffers and makes an out. Rortvedt goes into catch, Gordon goes to bench. Next inning Rortvedt gets placed on 2nd and Gordon is unavailable??? secondly, bullpen usage. Duffey, Alcala, Colome all get one inning each throwing around 10 pitches and are removed. Minaya gets an inning, struggles a bit, gets thru it with 20 plus pitches. He gets the next inning. Twins lose the game. I don’t understand analytics.
  5. I guess in that case Kepler is doomed to be a .200 hitter who is unable to advance a runner from second with no outs.
  6. And maybe if Kepler would just try to go to the opposite field once his shift would become less pronounced
  7. If the opposition would have played the shift that Kepler gets against Carew, I am willing to bet he would have bunted alot more
  8. Rocco must be a great manager. Didn’t most of these horrible players win the division last year?
  9. You cannot be serious. And it is more likely that he is resigned for next year than DFA’d this year.
  10. Your list includes 2 back end starters, a closer that had one bad month, a utility player and a glove first SS that the Twins knew they were getting. Go ahead and blame them for the season’s results, I just hope the FO sees it differently.
  11. Given the current Twins strategy of only asking for 5, maybe 6 innings of a starting pitcher. I think money would be better spent on Buxton, a SS and some more reliable, veteran bullpen arms
  12. I don’t think a trade is necessary. Sano-Polanco-free agent-Donaldson is your infield. Kepler-Buxton/Kirilloff is the outfield. Garver and Jeffers catch. Arraez, Miranda and three others is the bench.
  13. This is the rip on Donaldson and Simmons no matter what site.
  14. Replace Celestino with Sano. A free agent for Palacios and your position players are probably very close. Until Buxton is traded….
  15. Just giving up on Sano and Rooker?
  16. I am not saying he should be resigned for 2022, but I don’t quite understand all the dislike for Simmons. He was not signed for offense, as he has not ever really contributed much of that even in his prime. He does make the infield defense better. Consider that he has played with two poor (Arraez, Austudillo) fielders, two ok (Polanco, Sano) fielders and a gimpy Donaldson.
  17. I agree with a lot of this other than the percentages. I see it as more Simmons/FA 90%, Palanco 5%, Palacios 5%.
  18. Miranda played left field last night, perhaps they are trying him as a utility player. (Austudillo replacement?). It will really surprise me if the Twins let Simmons walk and don’t replace him with a free agent.
  19. I could be wrong, but it sure seems to me that the Twins do not view Polanco, Gordon, Martin or Miranda as major league options at SS, other than as possible spot starters. Not sure they should even be considered as options to fill this role at this point.
  20. Oh goodie. The Balazovic needs to be promoted NOW!! posts can start again.
  21. If horrible infield defense is the glimpse of next years possibilities that you want to see, doing as you suggest is definitely the way to go.
  22. Has Gordon played any SS since being called up? I don’t recall. That would be the main reason.
  23. Trading 3 important regular starters (when healthy) and the only one late inning bullpen option from the current roster would not be the direction I would go with this team.
  24. I suspect these 5 will all cost more than the Twins should invest. What sense does it make anyways to spend top dollar on a guy that pitches 5 innings every 5 days? Spend the money on the bullpen instead.
