  1. The Cardinals would not need an outfielder nor would they need an infielder. They have a long list of major league ready players and a decent list of prospects behind them. The Cardinals would need and most likely ask for pitching in return.
  2. Expectations have been smashed on both sides of the aisle and this happens every year on every team. It goes to show... All front offices not just the Twins get it wrong and they often get it wrong. It's easy to know what the expectations are for front offices. Just look at who they chose and what the chosen ones have done. Castro wasn't supposed to make the roster. Polanco wasn't ready so Castro headed north out of Ft. Myers. Gordon, Miranda, Gallo and Kepler were opening day starters. Castro has been better than all 4 of them. Castro has also been better than our chosen SS and CF. Jeffers started the season playing 1 game out of 3 behind Vazquez. Jeffers had horrible splits against right handed pitching last season. Top OPS against RH pitchers on the team currently belongs to Jeffers so maybe he isn't a split candidate. All front offices get it wrong often, fans get it wrong often. You have to let players honestly compete and let the players decide. Castro and Jeffers have won the competition as of June 26th.
  3. For those who are waiting to be better before trying to get better. Our pitching staff is pretty dang good. Getting them some offensive breathing room is a good idea.
  4. That first month... The Gallo signing looked brilliant. It wasn't.
  5. I will agree that the off-season outfield plan didn't work out. I will agree that McCutchen at 5M is much much much much better than Gallo at 10M. However, Cutch back home in Pittsburgh is what should have happened. Personally, If I'm going to use hindsight on the front office (I'm not). I have to use it on myself in order to be fair. I remember thinking offense was what we needed so I was thinking about the best bats available. The OF that I suggested was Mitch Haniger. He has continued to be oft-injured with a .653 OPS this year when healthy. Haniger would have cost us 43.5 for the next 3 years. I was wrong. The other free agent that I wanted was Brandon Drury. I wanted Drury because of his bat and positional flexibility. He is looking like a bargain 17M for 2 years. I was right. So far needs to be attached to both my right and wrongs.
  6. The Win was nice but the best moment of the game was the Maeda celebration on his final K of the game. That was baseball happiness. Made me happy that Kenta was happy.
  7. If I give this a thumbs up it will seem like I'm happy with his depression.
  8. I more of a Can-ner But I'm not a pessimist.
  9. With a nail in his ass. I'd be depressed walking around with that all the time.
  10. Agreed but if you are going to get tossed. Get your money's worth. At least turn your hat backwards.
  11. There will be nobody left to play and coach.
  12. Tingler bet him $1,000 that he couldn't get tossed two games in a row.
  13. They are both sounds made when you drop a quarter in the toilet.
  14. Yeah... If he can keep it up for a couple of years... he might even get voted into the hall of fame.
  15. What Does Beloit and Plouffe have in common?
  16. For full disclosure. I'm a Gordon Lightfoot fan. Amazing songwriter with an amazing voice. He personally changed the pronunciation of Detroit for me. My appreciation of the late Gordon Lightfoot has spread that pronunciation to De-troy-it Lakes, Minnesota and Ba-Loy-It Wisconsin.
  17. There are few rock bands who have had 16 final tours.
  18. Audra Martin just said "Hockey Day in Minnesota -- not that far off". I want her to apologize.
  19. Unless he wants to watch the game in Iowa.
