  1. The Dodgers and Twins set up similarly. The Dodgers utilize 3 platoon sets which leaves 5 players for every day duty. The Twins utilize 4 platoon sets which takes the every day player number down to 3. There is a stark difference between the L.A. 5 and the Minnesota 3. Ohtani, Betts, Freeman, Teoscar and Pages compared to Correa, Castro and Santana.
  2. Castro, Santana and Correa are our current versions. Miranda might be sliding into a 4th everyday guy. The other 10 or 9 players on the roster get rest.
  3. When the Bally sales team hits the streets to sell those Twins ad packages. The ratings, number of viewers determine how much they can charge. Kinetico pays X amount based upon X amount of households. Comcast has the majority of households. Kinetico isn't getting what they paid for and therefore most likely... not paying. Most of us don't know what new excuse Travis is going to use to get some water from his neighbors. If Kinetico doesn't pay and they shouldn't... Bally can't pay the Twins. Diamond can't survive this... Yet those blackouts remain while Diamond/Bally delays the inevitable and sets us all free. The first step is going to court just to put pressure on Diamond. Getting Diamond to admit they can't survive. It's going to take a long time just to get that answer just so MLB can move to the next step toward the eventual goal of getting every single team out of all contracts with Diamond. I'm really getting screwed here and I'm really going to be screwed for awhile. Because I'm guessing Diamond is going to take their time.
  4. Everybody's work load is being managed... Other than: Correa, Santana and Castro.
  5. In my case... it isn't just my decision. My wife doesn't watch much baseball but my wife has a say in the entertainment coming into our world. I know... I'm a softy. If I end up cutting the cord over this and I'm preparing to. I've got to make sure that whatever we do works for her. At the moment... I'm not going to uproot our world over a couple of companies staring at each other across a table. I'm waiting for the permanent move and that permanent move should have occurred this off-season. I absolutely blame the Twins for putting me in this position... even if just a temporary disruption. When they come back... I may not be. My wife and I will decide when the details are revealed.
  6. I highly recommend attending a Pablo day, sitting in that section, wearing your yellow jersey that comes in your size. 59 Bucks for the ticket and jersey is the best deal I've ever experienced in baseball. I'm team Pablo all the way. Got the jersey to prove it.
  7. This is how it is supposed to work. The more Festa's they can produce. The less Bundy's they have to sign and the less DeSclafani's they have to trade for. The less money spent on the Bundy's and DeSclafini's on the roster... the more money available to sign the Ober's to an extension. I believe it is quite possible that we were lucky that DeSclafini got hurt. He got himself out of the way by doing so. Sometimes injuries can make the team better.
  8. There are probably stats that will show how Alcala has done in the 2nd inning of work compared to the 1st inning of work. I don't know what those metrics say because I need my bifocals to read them.
  9. I'd wait until he actually struggles. Burn the last option on an earned demotion. I'm not burning the last option on a pitcher that is PITCHING GOOD for a routine almost clerical... fresh arm needed... roster shuffle type move. I'm in no rush to turn him into Jay Jackson status. No rush to reduce your options down to absorb struggles or lose him entirely with years of control dripping out of his ears. He's pitching good. Let him continue.
  10. I agree with this. Place it in the basement. Put flames on the wall if you'd like. Spooky sounds from the speakers. It will be the most visited area of Cooperstown.
  11. He has a toe injury that is keeping him out of the field.
  12. Ahh the lineup is out and it's the Vazquez lineup. So... Kepler with his 1.172 OPS over the past 15 days is on the bench. Well... on the bright side... umm... on the bright side... (Pause) Umm (Pause) Well... Just think happy thoughts!!!
  13. If Buxton is activated... Martin would be sent down I assume. My guess would then be... Buxton in CF and Castro in LF.
  14. I agree with you... So that puts Jeffers behind the plate tonight with Kepler in RF. Jeffers will probably get the day off tomorrow.
  15. Maybe... but you may need it next year and if things are going well this year you don't need to burn it. So... why put yourself in that position. If I had the job... it would at least be a consideration.
  16. You can never be sure. Lavine: "You don't understand... Jorge Alcala never gets that part... that part is perfect for him... It'll make him a big star and I'm gonna run him out of the business".
  17. With Rodon on the hill... the lineup is pretty much set with only the order to be ordered. The only question in my mind is will Kepler or Vazquez start. Kepler has been hot and Vazquez caught yesterday so Rocco might drop Kepler in against the lefty tonight with Jeffers behind the dish. Rocco also might be thinking about how to manage Jeffers catching load and keep his bat in the lineup all three games against the Bombers with two right handed starters to follow. Would he catch Jeffers back to back Wednesday night followed by a Thursday day game? If he would... Vazquez is playing tonight. Unless there are some health issues that I don't know about With Kepler in the lineup DH - Margot C - Jeffers 1B - Santana 2B - Farmer 3B - Miranda SS - Correa LF - Martin CF - Castro RF - Kepler With Vazquez in the lineup DH - Jeffers C - Vazquez 1B - Santana 2B - Farmer 3B - Miranda SS - Correa LF - Martin CF - Castro RF - Margot I'm going to guess Kepler is in the lineup tonight. The Yankees have two left handers in the pen. One threw 21 pitches yesterday and neither of them are high leverage guys so I think that Rocco will have Julien and Kirilloff pinch hit as soon as Rodon is removed from the game.
  18. I agree with what you are saying... I think I do anyway. Not all teams have depth. All teams have names that take up space on a depth chart However... Depth that can't perform well is not depth Depth that stays on the bench is not depth... they are just names on a roster. To be depth... you have to perform decently when called upon. The majority of Twinsdaily faithful are probably looking at Jackson and Okert right now and waiting for them to be tossed overboard. Based on Rocco's "a little on the margins" "not a lot separating some of those guys" comment. The Twins are not going to toss them overboard just yet because they see the difference as marginal. The Twins obviously have a certain level of confidence in Jackson and Okert going forward. I don't know if it's a Pagan level of confidence to survive 5 or 6 blown appearances but... Alcala is in St. Paul so the margins are still thin in their assessment.
  19. When the Manager says "Some of those decisions, they're kind of a little on the margins... There's not a lot separating some of those guys". He is telling you the answer right there. Options become the tie-breaker. Options are a powerful thing... they play havoc on a young player trying to establish a career and they protect veterans in the name of depth and DEPTH is absolutely necessary to get through 162 games. Having options most likely means that they LOVE Alcala.
  20. I don't know but I'm not afraid to post a theory. 1. Duran and Jax are not going to be sent down. 2. Thielbar, Okert and Jackson can't be sent down and are not going to be released at this point of the season. 3. Alcala, Funderburk and Sands are the only other bullpen arms with options. 4. Of those three choices... If they send down Cole Sands they will burn his last option and he has been pitching well. Leaving Alcala and Funderburk as the cleanest choices if they need to make a move. 5. The Twins used 4 relievers on Tuesday so they probably needed a fresh arm. Alcala threw two innings making him the choice over Funderburk. 6. The Twins brought up a fresh arm in Staumont and are using this opportunity to take a look at Josh. That's my theory
  21. This is going to sound like a bitter old man talking but... not out of bitterness... out of pure principle. I'm not going to beg for scraps. If the Twins don't care if I'm able to see all games... eventually I'll stop caring. I will not apply band-aids to my wounds because I'm caught in the middle of two companies throwing rocks at each other. If I am not able to watch the Twins on the cable that I purchased by June 2nd... I really don't think I will have the energy to bother with a free download. Once a permanent solution is identified by the Twins. I will make my allocation decision. I'll tell you all one thing. It'll be one or the other. The Twins and Cable won't both get my money. If I cut the cord... I'm cutting it. If I stay with cable and the Twins are not on it. So be it.
