  1. This has been an interesting discussion to read. Here's the problem that seems to be glossed over. In order for Keirsay Jr to get placed on the 26 man roster. He will require a Margot on that same roster. Margot's misfortune does not provide opportunity for Keirsay. Keirsay hitting left handed provides opportunity for Margot.
  2. They are deployed 1 inning at a time. Bad Innings will happen from time to time and when they do... they take a long time to repair because they are deployed 1 inning at a time. I don't have any bullpen concerns at the moment. The pendulum swings.
  3. The Twins, Diamond Sports Group and Comcast/Midco hear it in Charlie Brown's Teacher's Voice.
  4. I don't hate Santana and I don't hate losing Polanco. I was concerned that the Twins would have been better off keeping Polanco compared to spending the Polanco money on Santana and Margot. That concern still remains. When it is all said and done in 2024. If Santana produces better or near the same as Polanco this year.... My concerns will have been unnecessary.
  5. The worst teams in baseball win 4 out of 10 games. The best teams in baseball win 6 out of 10 games. Average teams win 5 out of 10 games. The Margins are incredibly thin, low-grade competition really doesn't exist. Thursday Morning May 9th. The Baltimore Orioles had the best record in the American League 24-12 .667 Win Percentage The Cleveland Guardians were 24-13 with a .649 Win Percentage. The White Sox were 15 games behind Cleveland with a .243 winning percentage. The Guardians and White Sox met in Chicago for a 4 games series this weekend and things just didn't go as planned. The worst teams in baseball win 4 out of 10 games. The best teams in baseball win 6 out 10. The White Sox will win games and the Phillies will lose games. After going 7-13 in the first 20... The Twins went 17-3 in the next 20. After 40 games... the Twins have 24 wins which is: 6 out of 10. Can they keep that pace up. I don't know. 122 games left to go. Hang on... there will be ups and downs. .400 winning percentage teams can and will beat you. .600 winning percentage teams can and do lose.
  6. Given my posts over the years. A confusion emoji would be perfect. 🤔
  7. I honestly don't care for imperfect people passing judgement on imperfect people. There are 346 individuals in the hall of fame. I've never met any of the 346 but I'm willing to bet that out of those 346... some of them may not be saints. We don't know if any of those 346 elected baseball people are buying up real estate in Florida and tossing old people out into the street. We don't know who from that 346 kick puppies for the fun of it. There are approximately 380 or so people who vote on who goes into the hall of fame. We don't know anything about the people who vote. The odds are that some of them who are passing judgement on Barry Bonds might doing something cringe worthy stuff in their own personal lives. What did the player do on the field? How does he compare to his peers on the field? Did he put butts in the seat? That's should be the criteria. Pete Rose would get my vote however, in consideration of the process.... I don't think I would want a vote.
  8. Yeah... gotta pin it on Martin unless Julien couldn't hear him until it was too late. In that case, nobody's fault if the Twins fans were so loud that communication was impossible. My assumption was that the crowd wasn't that loud on a routine fly. If that's the case... by the time Austin Martin said mine. Julien was already in the way which left Martin with a difficult catch as he tried to avoid collision.
  9. These things work themselves out. By the time Royce Lewis gets back... someone else will be on the injured list. Miranda only becomes a tough decision when everyone is healthy and that doesn't happen very often. If Miranda keeps hitting decently... he'll keep his roster spot. 3B, 1B and DH are all positions where he can get playing time.
  10. Unless the Twins reach an agreement on an extension. Max Kepler will be a free agent this off-season.
  11. I agree. I really don't like the thumbs down at all. The primary reason I don't like it. It doesn't explain what you disagree with and it does nothing to foster conversation.
  12. Players need to understand that umpires have an impossible task. Calls will be missed. I'm sure that players understand that umps have an impossible job... if they don't understand how difficult it is for umpires to get every call correct, they haven't talked with a catcher about pitch framing or put two and two together after talking with a catcher about pitch framing. Your catcher is trying to steal a call or two or 50 so being upset when the other teams catcher steals a call is probably out of bounds. Umpires need to understand that each AB is important for not only wins and losses but also future contracts or even keeping a major league job and I'm hopeful that umpires understand that fans paid money to watch Aaron Judge play. Umps tossing players should be so rare that we are shocked when it happens. Frustration is going to be part of the game. On the other hand... Umps tossing Managers... no problem... toss away. 😄
  13. We will find out the thick or thinness when we put the shirt on. 😁 Ready or not they will be called upon.
  14. Wasn't at today's Pablo Day but I was there on Saturday. It's really one hell of a deal. $59 Bucks for the ticket and the Jersey and the Jersey is worth the price alone. I will proudly wear that Yellow Jersey in my normal life.
  15. Nice bases clearing double today. Article timed out well for a response from Margot. @Matthew Taylor If you don't mind... write more articles like this about our players because you may have produced 3 runs for us with your keyboard. For more bang for the buck... Focus on the starters! If you don't mind. I'd appreciate a similar article aimed at Joe Ryan posted tomorrow morning before he takes the mound against the Jays. You may have the reverse jinx skills to make everyone forget about the power of the sausage.
  16. 1. Do we have to sign free agents or trade from other organizations to fill out our pitching staff? If not... you have yourself a real nice pipeline. 2. If So... If we need to acquire pitching from outside the organization... How much does the degree of outside help needed compare to other organizations. 3. Trades are not just outside help... they can work both ways. Gray was certainly not a pipeliner but it took someone in the pipeline in Chase Petty to acquire him. Maeda wasn't a pipeline production but Brusdar was. I look at the arms starting to come out of the system and it looks like we got some flow in the pipe.
  17. I wasn't a fan of trading for Margot. I wasn't a fan of how the Polanco money was distributed in general. However... I don't believe that Margot will end up with a .464 OPS. His numbers are going to come up. It might take a while but he will have a stretch or two
  18. They were in between two bodies of water.
  19. I know... That is a tough call for any manager... and... and... on top of that... Who could possibly predict that the AB in the ninth would be more desperate or important than that AB in the 5th. Hindsight is 20/20.
