  1. No, Dick, having Buxton injured does not cause a problem for Molitor to get Vargas in the lineup. Quite the opposite. Just pure stupidity there
  2. I'm glad Buxton gets to bat again in this game, against what is likely not the A's best reliever.
  3. Well.... Actually.... It hit the top of the wall, so it didn't technically clear the flower pot
  4. I know we've been joking about it, but do we have an exit velocity on that Sano bomb?
  5. Well... they had some tickets and realized it was my birthday, so they invited me.
  6. 36th round pick last year. Son of someone in their organization. No details yet. Nothing mentioned on the broadcast.
  7. I still don't think he would've gotten him
  8. That slider that Gray threw on the first pitch to Dozier was NASTY. Thought he could come back with it and he hung it. DOZIER!
  9. They keep harping on that SB like Polanco screwed it up. The throw wasn't that good and he was rushing to apply the tag
  10. Of all the people that should know that W/L is a bad way to judge success, you'd think it would be Bert
  11. I'm curious how foul Buxton's ball to RF was. The camera made it look pretty close.
  12. How the inning went: Polanco struck out swinging. Sanó doubled to deep center. Castro singled to deep right, Sanó scored. Mauer hit for Gimenez. Mauer singled to left, Castro to second. Rosario flied out to left. Kepler hit for Buxton. Kepler popped out to third. MN 1 - DET 2 How the inning could have went without that ridiculous lineup: Polanco struck out swinging. Sanó doubled to deep center. Castro singled to deep right, Sanó scored. D Santana pinch runs for Castro Mauer singled to left, D Santana to third Rosario flied out to left. D Santana tags and scores from 3rd Kepler hit for Buxton. Kepler popped out to third. MN 2 - Det 2
  13. I agree that it's not perfect, but were moving the SLG not the OBP. Granted a double has more run-scoring potential than a single and a SB, however, at the same time, a single and a CS has significantly more run-scoring potential than a pop-out. I'd be interested to know how WAR treats SB (and CS). Just trying to represent a base-stealer's contributions better than a standard triple slash.
  14. His Effective OPS was 809 eSLG = (TB+SB-CS) / AB
  15. Malcolm Gladwell would be pleased.
  16. Strange that there was no mention of BYTO in the write up. Didn't most of the original visitor traffic come from there?
  17. Of course, when I commented I didn't know you were friends. It was the quotes around "source" that made wonder what was up.
