    Of course nearly everyone wants Bauer. Even the "not in this strange year" crowd has a price so low that they couldn't resist. And conversely, the "do whatever it takes" crowd has a price so high that they just wouldn't go there. The Reds would lose out on the compensatory pick when he walks after rejecting the QO, so they aren't going to accept anything less than what they view as being the value of the 30th overall draft pick. So. What's your offer? I'd go as high as Rooker and Cavaco. It stings. But it's worth it to me.

    I fail to see how this would be a second class championship. If anything this year's playoffs will be harder than ever before. The ONLY caveat is the lack of fans has some impact, but not enough to call it second class in my opinion.

    Because there was absolutely no doubt that he was safe. None. I was one of the most obvious calls we will see this year... and they lose the challenge at the 7th inning anyway.

    Right... but all the arguments FOR robo umps imply that perfection could be achieved and human judgement and error would be removed. I'm not anti-robo ump, but what's calibrating the strike zone between AB? That seems like a gigantic source of human error (or cheating).

    In a season that everyone agrees just can't be completely fair to all teams and at some points has felt like is hanging on by a string, the fact that we are traveling to Pittsburgh for two games after two games here, just boggles the mind. Just declare the Pirates the home team for the next 2 games and keep them in Target Field. In the covid-19 world, traveling to a new city for two days against a team you're already with is the height of stupidity. Probably the best thing that could happen is to play the existing schedule through Sunday, while working on a new more Covid friendly schedule Starting Monday. Be as fair as possible, but not worry if you can't be. Lots has changed since they made the schedule (including the playoff format) and with a truth potion I'm sure they'd admit it's going worse than they expected. Save the season. Be the commissioner and make the changes necessary.

    Thank you. It actually came to me while I was typing a reply to the moderator who moved my thread to "other baseball" Sweet god, that brain fart was torture.

    I'm sure this isn't the spot I should be posting this, but apparently my brain is broken because I can't think of this phrase and it's driving me CRAZY. I'll accept any wrist slap deemed necessary if it gets me an answer. So... when one team figures out a "secret" that most of the others haven't opened their eyes to yet. Like how the A's were all in on OBP instead of average. Or maybe some teams figured out exit velocity and how to make use of that info before other teams. Every time there's a new thing like that they say.... "Exit Velocity is the new ________" It's something like "inequity" or "inbalance" but that's not it. Please help!
