I was at that game last year. It's the day Royce Lewis got hurt. This team needs a spark and he could be that. The division is bad enough, so hopefully the Twins won't be out of it when he gets back.
I've watched 140 or so games from this team every year since 2017. I have concluded that the twins dugout must be happier than Disneyland. Guys seem like they can't wait to get back in there. What I can't figure out is how a lineup can both lead the league in strikeouts and take at bats like they're afraid of striking out.
I have hope that like Smalley says "Guys will play to the back of their baseball cards". On the other hand, this is two+ years of watching this lineup get locked up by any old "joey bag o doughnuts" starter.
If Patrick Corbin makes $1 per start and has a 25.00 era with 0 strikeouts and 12 walks. he'll still go perfect the first time through the Twins order. This lineup is totally clueless.
79-83 third place. Probably not bad enough to necessitate an overhaul of the coaching staff, but one can dream. At least all the guys they picked up at the deadline, save for Fulmer, are under contract through next year.
