  1. Well, like it or not we get to see Buxton get another chance and hopefully Kepler will get to play some more. In regards to Kepler we need more guys who can get on base. Fingers-crossed that Buxton shows improvement and Kepler gets to play. I see Buxton had 2 K's last night. I don't want to wish injury on any player but I was thinking it would be nice if Dozier pulled a hammy - so we could get to see Polanco come up and play for a regular stretch as well.
  2. Kudos to Rogers for not giving up a run in an inning! Let's celebrate the small victories.
  3. If I were GM I would cut Nolasco immediately after this game. I have seen enough and we won't get anything in a trade.
  4. I will continue to root for the Twins to win and follow the minors - but I do have some other teams I like to follow. I grew up in Maryland near DC and the Nationals are in the NL - so they would be my 2nd favorite team. For some reason I also like Seattle this year - we went on a family vacation there last year and really liked the area. Seems like it is time for them. All that being said and though I do not like any of the following teams - it would be fun to see a Cubs-White Sox or Wrigley-Fenway World Series this year.
  5. Caught stealing then the much anticipated strike out by Dozier. Nice pitching by Santana tonight - unfortunately the usual result this year. Getting too painful to watch - might be better to follow Rochester the rest of the year.
  6. Swept again - complete system failure
  7. Seems to be a requisite that when our relievers come into the game - he must give up at a minimum one run an inning.
  8. Before feeling too sorry for Odor for Bautista endangering him with his slide - you may want to read this article. He had a couple of slides last year that were much worse and SF and LAA. Plus he had an incident in the minors where he slid into 2nd and started a brawl. One reason I think he deserves a longer suspension in this case. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/rougned-odor-aggressive-play-borders-dirty-article-1.2638425
  9. I thing Rangers were out of line here for a couple of reasons. (1) To respond to a bat flip from 6 months ago - and the bat flip was really in celebration of a big home run in the playoffs and was not directed at the Rangers in the first place. Part of those unwritten rules of baseball (2) wait until the last game and last at bat to hit Bautista in the ribs with a fastball (3) Odor has been involved in many altercations - he has slid into 2nd dirty many times himself and was involved in a similar brawl in the minor leagues when he slid into 2nd - so you can see he had a quick trigger and I expect him to be suspended for around a week. He does know how to throw a nice punch and Bautista is not very well liked around baseball so not a lot of sympathy for him (4) Rangers are not owning that they threw purposely at Bautista - they are saying the pitch "got away" which no one believes. If you are going to be so strong in passion for upholding the game - why not be man enough to admit what you did? The brawl sure does get everyone excited and talking about it though. Does baseball want more of this publicity?
  10. Nice weekend for Centeno - I had forgotten Catchers could hit. So, I know he will come back to reality but it's enjoyable while it lasts and this has come at a much needed time for some good news.
  11. I like all these moves and look forward to them. I wonder if that will be enough though - this team seems to have a losing mentality. I am not sure how to fix that - maybe bringing up some more young guys will help. If we score runs the starting pitcher doesn't come back with a shutdown inning, if we have great scoring opportunities we seem to invariably strike out with runners in scoring position, we give the bullpen a lead and they blow it. At first I thought it was just "bad luck" and it would turn our way but it continues to happen more than chance. Whatever it takes it looks like we expect to lose. Seems like we need a change in personality, if not from the manager, then a veteran leader We can call it the "Hunter" effect but the '87 team had Dan Gladden, the '91 had Jack Morris.
  12. This team does not disappoint. Who is going to step up and lead this group!
  13. What a gosh-awful team this is. I think we need to be dropped down to AAA for the rest of the year to avoid more embarrassment. We'll take Atlanta with us.
  14. Progress - improved from losing 16-4 to losing 10-4 with all the changes. Tomorrow extra innings!
  15. I only get so many chances to watch the Twins play living down here in Texas, so I am sticking this one out. Could be a good thing I can't see them play much this year the way it's going so far this season. Just when you think it can't get any worse.
  16. That was a nice grab - Dozier has made some nice plays this series. Hitting is coming around as well.
  17. Well, so much for that. Plouffe's turn.
  18. Nice catch Sano! I'll admit my expectations are low.
  19. Any one else think Santana could have caught the Gomez hit?
  20. Don't understand why that was a home run either. Fan whiffed on it and it hit below the line.
