  1. Thanks! Those 2 giveaways are the difference in the game right now.
  2. OK offense time to wake up after sleeping the last 3 innings. White Sox defense c'mon help us out.
  3. Not having watched the game - on the 2 wild pitches that led to White Sox runs - were those totally on Gibson or would a better defensive catcher been reasonably able to block them?
  4. Thanks Fien! Back to the Crappy Fien - let's try another pitcher. Sano pinch-hitting opportunity coming up.
  5. Nice write-up and analysis Seth! I would certainly do this deal - locking Sano up for his most productive years. He is not a pitcher or catcher so I think there is less risk for a serious injury. Saves about a projected $20M in his 2 Free Agency years. To put in perspective this total cost is $100M less than Mauer's deal for the same number of years.
  6. Glad to see Buxton being called up but unfortunately at the expense of Hicks. That means we will still have the Robinson/Hunter platoon I guess. At least Buxton was spared witnessing the usual NY meltdown. Looking forward to seeing improvement in his batting approach this second round and no headfirst slides.
  7. Referencing Baseball-reference.com and head to head matchups.... Since 2000, In the regular season the Yankees are 75-36 against Minnesota for a .676 winning percentage. For teams played over 100 games in that timeframe, NY has beaten only KC more than Minnesota. Conversely, Minnesota has the worst winning percentage against NY in the same timeframe for teams played > 100 games. The fact that KC stunk for most of that time plus Minnesota was a contender and add in the playoff losses leads to the frustration. Actually these losses to the Yankees have long passed the frustration line - they have moved into acceptance. This apparently is just the way it is. All the games merge into one composite game memory: Twins have lead in late innings - Twins blow lead - Twins lose.
  8. Can't make this stuff up - 2 Birdies > 1 Plouffie
  9. C'mon, we need about 8 more runs
  10. Shorten up the swing Dozier - a single brings in two.
  11. Now we are letting Chi Chi off the hook - ok we need a comeback.
  12. Good Santana for 3 innings - now turns to Bad Santana. Only good through the lineup once or twice. Get the bullpen up.
  13. Oh My! Even Robinson joining in the fun. On a roll now.
  14. Rosario - nice throw! Wiping out memories of Willingham and D. Young in LF.
  15. I am watching the Texas feed. Very complimentary of Sano and his size and power. On the 2nd HR they said the seats kept it from going further. Even the sac fly - he got jammed and the ball went to deep right. They also like Hicks. Said it shows you have to have patience with young hitters. Showed Pretty good background knowledge for Texas announcers
  16. Thank You for pitching to Sano with first base open and Plouffe up next. Sano!!!!!
  17. On the Texas broadcast they had the stat that Pelfrey's era at home is 2.05 and on the road its approx 6.50. All is blowouts have been on the road. Way to start the game Hicks!
  18. Let's go for a win streak. I would have played Escobar and maybe given Plouffe a rest instead. Hope Molitor is correct.
  19. Nice comeback! Kudos to Mauer, Sano, Suzuki and Escobar!
  20. Sano does not look like a rookie. Did not swing at balls and went with that low outside pitch nicely to RF.
