  1. Plouffe - and we are on the board - how about 7 runs in the 7th
  2. Houston is self-destructing - lost their lead against the A's. Angels are now closing in on them. Wish it were us but we can't seem to shake this losing.
  3. I am assuming we are waiting to string all our hits together in one inning to maximize our runs scored.
  4. I am ready for pennant race baseball. Tracking the Twins on my laptop and switching watching between the Houston and Texas games. Hopefully this switches our luck and we can win tonight's game.
  5. How many times in a row can we not score a runner from 3rd with less than 2 outs? Since everything is tracked is there a record for that?
  6. We deserved every bit of this lost.
  7. Yes, I would have let Rosario swing away with hopefully speed keeping us out of a double play. Need a clutch hit please.
  8. This does seem to be Groundhog day. I have seen a loss like this before.
  9. I would be more confident if we could score a run in extra innings. How about mixing in a strike Tonkin!
  10. After this game and last night - who is going to pitch tonight for us?
  11. Another chance - good relief pitching for the Twins in this one.
  12. Time for someone besides Sano to come up with a clutch hit.
  13. As a young fan I didn't think long-term - you live and die with each game always with hope that the team wins. Part of the fun of the '87 World Series was low expectations and enjoying each game. As I got in my thirties, you become both more of a realist and view things with more of a long-term thought and try to make projections because we all like to know or think we know the future. That is very natural. For example, 10 years a go I thought we would have Mauer and Morneau for the next 10+ years and would be guaranteed to be in the playoff hunt each year and look where that got me. As I have recently hit my fifties, I am trying to make a concerted effort this year to not think with the future in mind but to try to enjoy each game as it happens. So as long as there is a mathematical chance for the playoffs this year I will hold out hope they make the playoffs and get on a hot streak once they get there. I will think about next year - next year. Getting back to the post - no one on this site is a bad fan - we are all just show our fandom in different ways which is a good thing.
  14. I can see why Molitor used the Lefty-righty thought process to bat for Buxton - but personally I was looking forward to Buxton getting a chance to lead-off. He may not be on his hitting game but he can use his speed to get on base. I mean what confidence has Santana inspired this year? Buxton is afterall a top prospect. Buxton then Hicks - I was looking for them to set the table.
  15. Well, that had to be one of the most disappointing Viking performances in quite a while. So much hype and they looked like the worst team in the league. Just to echo a couple of earlier posts outside of the play...Berman and Dilfer are the absolute worst announcers - I hope I never have to listen to them broadcast again. 49ers uniforms are ridiculously ugly - and what do those colors have to do with their uniform. Bears had the same crap - Fire Goodell for allowing that alone - lol! Totally outplayed at the line of scrimmage - not looking at the game tape - but our Linebackers always seemed to be out of position and Hodges looked like the main culprit - Greenway looked slow - I would like to see more Kendricks. Peterson looked hesitant - not sure if that was the blocking or if he is rusty. Don't know what was up with Bridgewater - looked more like a Ponder out there. For the first time I can remember since the Giants-Vikings conference game - I turned off the game before it was over and had no desire to flip it back on. Good news is that this is one game - team has a chance to rebound - will be very interested to see how the team comes next week at home versus the Lions. I guess the bad news could be if we have to watch 15 more like this.
  16. Great post - yes thanks to all the contributors! I check on the minor league updates every day. Appreciate your diligent work.
  17. I would have preferred that the Twins would have acquired another veteran backup after Pinto went down at the beginning of the year, but apparently Ryan is very satisfied with Herrman and Fryer.
  18. Texas plays Houston 7 more games so if we get on a hot streak we should pass one of the two.
  19. Redbeard makes his appearance.
  20. Well Twins hit a Grand Slam yesterday and lost - maybe we can turn this one around as well.
  21. Conger blocking the basepath?
  22. Not a good day for the bullpen - every relief pitcher has allowed at least 2 baserunners in their short outings.
