  1. On a positive note....other than pitching, defense and hitting, we are doing pretty good today so far!
  2. After the double-header drubbing nice to see such well pitched performances in the minors.
  3. Worst home double-header in Twins history? 16 runs to the negative.
  4. A touchdown and dare I say Field Goal and we are back in this thing.
  5. Boshers must have gotten the same Astros scouting report Berrios did.
  6. We can hope these are growing pains but a 9.32 ERA is pretty disappointing. Looks like we are saving Albers - no burning
  7. So....do we burn Albers this game, save him for the next one or have him pitch in both?
  8. Polanco can bunt - so it is possible to learn that in our system unless he studied that on his own. I've seen so many bad bunts I am not sure.
  9. I was watching the Astros broadcast of the game last night. They were very impressed with Polanco's play at short in particular a play where he had to run in bend down for a slow chopper and fire a throw to first. They added they know what position he will be playing tomorrow night. I would like to see him play at SS more to see if he can stick there - from last nights game his arm looked strong enough.
  10. I am for this move if he is going down to AAA to work on tinkering with on his swing, learn how to bunt, etc...he will have 3-4 weeks to do that. I do not get to watch the Twins so how was Buxton trending? Did anyone see signs that he is turning the corner or was he getting worse? Maybe he was sent down for a break. Today, I was trying to come up with why Santana continues to play, he doesn't seem to do anything particularly well. Kind of like a Nunez light. I would love to see Polanco play regularly. Maybe play Plouffe long enough to trade him. Hope he comes up on a hot streak.
  11. I agree! I have been following his performance this year and I will caveat this with I have never seen him play and I am certainly no expert but I have a hunch that Granite's skill set will translate well to the majors and we could really use a leadoff hitter like him.
  12. Cannot believe Nunez bunted. Too stupid to learn from our previous mistakes.
  13. Hey, let's score some runs tonight! Nice opening thread AM! Some random responses - Who needs to tank when you can lose on your own merit. Can't root for the Twins to lose - goes against my nature but improving or solidifying their draft position it is a nice consolation when they do. Hiring an Outside search firm is a positive in my opinion in that they will look at a wide range of options. I have a feeling the Twins Roster on August 2nd will look almost identical to what it does now, hopefully I am wrong. Berrios should be called up at least.
  14. Yes, especially since we have nothing to lose why not let Gibby close out the game? All's well that ends well I guess - nice to come back after last nights loss.
  15. No batter, No batter, No batter. What happened to our bats at the all-star break? Bring back the Texas pitchers.
  16. I meant do they get to stand in the batters box and hit 8 practice pitches - not swinging at the air.
  17. I will say with such a demand for pitching from contenders if there was any time we could trade Nolasco this would be it - but I still doubt we will be able to.
  18. I don't see how you can limit the number of relief pitchers in an inning or game. I have stated my preference for time saving on relief pitching changes - no warm-up throws when a reliever comes in - and they have to run in from the bullpen - lol! Pinch-hitters don't get 8 balls to practice hitting. I am also in favor of limiting the number of trips to the mound - I like the fact now that they limit the time on visits.
  19. I was remiss in not mentioning this before but Happy 78th birthday to Tony Oliva today!
  20. Der Kid!!! Way to battle and hit one out!
  21. Hmm, Pressly coming in - how does the saying go - this will be like watching a drunk chase a balloon along the side of a cliff...
