  1. Age 35....I don't even see him being much of an advantage at the plate over Vazquez.....OUCH! I would rather have Mickey Gasper over McCann at this point.
  2. When I first looked at his numbers (after the trade,) I was very intrigued! His numbers would "play" as a replacement to Vasquez......if his defense behind the plate were at least "solid." Now, there is all this talk about being a 2nd or 1st baseman??? If he can't be a catcher....he has ZERO value to this organization!
  3. Not going to happen. Also, the guys mentioned are "cheap." That isn't what this front office is going to get rid of.....in fact.....they are LOOKING for it! :-)
  4. Hard pass on all three. DaShawn Keirsey can hit just as poorly as these three guys but has a better glove and baserunning skills. De La Cruz: "left fielder AND DH." LOL! (when they are "listed" as DH-ing.......it means they are not very good in the field.) :-)
  5. We have internal option who can hit just as poorly as Mateo......pass.
  6. PS I am not interested in trading Lewis. But if it happens, it better be for a TOP catching prospect!
  7. The Dodgers have a better catching prospect than Cartaya that I would want back. The Dodgers are loaded at the catching position(big league and AAA).....so they will be more willing to give up quality there.........than this trade would offer.
  8. He is 5-6 years removed from being a quality MLB pitcher. The last 4-5 years he is borderline number 5-6 starter. Not sure why other teams would be giving up anything for a #6 starter.......
  9. The fact that he isn't playing 100% as a catcher doesn't mean that he is so awesomely flexible.....it is because they question his ability to be a full time catcher. ESPECIALLY in this Twin's organization right now......which is critically short on big league/AAA catchers. He doesn't need protecting........
  10. I was also ticked they picked up Margot when they could have inserted Keirsey. Better defense, and at worst....same bat.
  11. Yeah...but we already knew Margot's weak spots....and most are weaker than Keirsey's......
  12. Keirsey was my choice over Margot to start the year. Hitting might have been close to the same (as Margot,) but better outfield, better speed on the bases (pitch running,) and a heck of a lot cheaper!
  13. Yep.......looks like Miranda got lucky in June and is regressing in July and........errrr........nevermind!
  14. The Dr has it right. He is even more effective with the Twins than with the Saints this year! As a typical Twin's fan, I am worried the "wheels will fall off......"
  15. A lot of the commentors now....... gave me the thumbs down when I wanted Keirsey over Margot before the start of the season! Margot really never had the bat but his glove was solid. For Keirsey, his glove is superior to Margot and his bat may be similar. A big difference is that his speed would be a great asset off the bench!
  16. I do like the fact that it looks like DaShawn Keirsey will be forced to almost start every day in the outfield. I think he could easily be our 4th outfielder next year (or a nice replacement/call up this year.) He already has a couple of "tools" that can play in the majors. (defense, speed, stealing bases, pinch runner.......) Seems like the "hit tool" came around last year.....hopefully that sticks this year as well!
  17. Catchers: "Both Isola and Winkel should be expected to get plenty of reps behind the plate as well." Ummm.....no. 4 catchers? With 4 catchers........NONE of them will get "plenty of reps!" If Camargo is really the "next" catcher who gets called up, he should be getting 2/3rds of all the catching reps!
  18. 1 Can he start? (wish) 2 He must have "sneaky Maeda stuff?"
  19. I think they need to find a way for Duarte to make the opening day roster. He has had a better spring than many on the list and it seems like something started to "click" for him after the 2022 season!
  20. I had high hopes for DaShawn Keirsey (even over Margot.) Is he injured......or didn't he get invited to spring training?
  21. I don't disagree.......but we MUST have his previous production.....or that contract is overwhelmingly terrible!
  22. Those 3 things and a quarter will buy you cup of coffee. If he puts up Pedro Florimon numbers......#1, #2, #3 are worthless...... and no one will be talking about them at all. PS I guess the "cup of coffee for a quarter" saying......... might be a little 'dated' these days......
  23. I loved watching what Jax is doing to try improve his game year over year. But lets not get over our skis here. He had a middle of the pack ERA on just the Twin's roster last year, Heck, Pagan had a lower ERA for crying out loud. An "end of the game" pitcher needs to have a sub-3 ERA a year or two in a row.....now you have...... a STUD! I hope he can get there!
