  1. I always liked Duffey until his time was overdue to be cut. I wish KC well with him but the now 33 yr old pitching at the AAA Omaha reveals some problems: 5.40 BB per 9
  2. I just about posted the same thing. Thanks for making me seem more of an arse than I already am <grins>.
  3. A's kicked Yanks in Der arse. 2-0. Excellent game broadcast on Free TV MLB today. Dallas Braden did the color for the A's. He is excellent (try their podcast, "Baseball is Dead"). Aaron Boone got tossed; ump heard what he thought was Boone. It was a fan! Boone went crazy; Braden dropped a bunch of one liners at that point. Hilarious.
  4. He dove for a ball against the Guardians, landed on his shoulder, and took a ton of time to get up. I believe he finished the inning but came out of the game shortly thereafter.
  5. ...and don't try to catch falling knives.
  6. I love Farmer but I am wondering if age 33 is the same for him.
  7. 3 true starters will get you about .500 ball.
  8. 1 May, earliest I even check on the lawn. 15 May, earliest Target Field gates finds my butt in the seat.
  9. 40* here in StP just when sun came out and no hitter went bah bye.
  10. Although I couldn't find stats from AA ball: StP: 20th lowest OPS out of 20 teams Ced Rapids: 3rd highest OPS out of 12 teams
  11. MLB rules permit switching hands between batters. However, he must declare which hand he will use exclusively on a batter. No switching hands between that single batter.
  12. No, he is ambidextrous starting pitcher at Mississippi State. Throws 99mph from the left side; 95 from the right. Has just one glove. Good story at MLB. https://www.mlb.com/news/jurrangelo-cijntje-ambidextrous-pitcher-mississippi-state
  13. Great backstory on his debut on MLB.com "As Jair Camargo stepped to the plate for the first time as a Major League player on Tuesday night, he was so locked in that he couldn’t hear anything around him -- not even that piercing rattle that’s been following him around the world for 15 years...." https://www.mlb.com/news/jair-camargo-major-league-debut-twins
  14. The NYPost is thundering that which we have all seen, Angel Hernandez embarrassing his optometrist. https://nypost.com/2024/04/17/sports/calls-for-angel-hernandezs-mlb-ouster-growing-has-to-be-a-line/ Rosenthal tackles the subject: ]
  15. With an inverse corollary, we can see why Gladden is relegated to radio!
  16. Where would you start with this team were you Baldelli? Team hitting is dead last out of 30 teams. .191. Team pitching: 20 teams have given up lower batting averages to their opponents. (Tigers have yielded lowest opponents BA).
  17. Game on. 74*, no precipitation, 7mph breeze.
  18. "I think it's a game that we can definitely build off of going forward. ... We were able to do things on offense." Ryan Jeffers gives his thoughts after the loss. I think Jeffers has had his ear at the door during Baldelli's pressies too often.
  19. John Sterling, Yanks announcer, is retiring immediately due to health concerns. He is 85 and is being honored on Saturday which suggests serious prognosis. https://uk.movies.yahoo.com/sports/news/york-yankees-radio-play-play-214452914.html
  20. I'm out. Spinning over to a game, Jays vs Yanks, 3-1 in the 4th.
  21. Varland keeps the cookies just on a'comin.' 13 inn, 4 HRs.
  22. Uffda Donuts. https://uffdadonuts.com/home
