  1. King is throwing a no-hitter for Padres; so sweet to watch Arraez once again. Just doubled.
  2. Geo McGovern, '72 Dem nominee for President.

  3. Chicago radio was surprised Baldelli didn't appeal that call. I didn't see it but will call him safe.
  4. 1) Last year, Baldelli would sit on the lineup card like an aging hen. This year, I can go to MLB.com and by 9am, the lineup in available. Why the change in philosophy? Give the players time to get "up," give the players time to study pitch arsenal? Just seems like last year's secret approach has given way to different approach. 2) For those of us who don't have the video cast, your opinion on how Lee looks out there. Thanks in advance. db
  5. On MiLB.TV, free to all. Jenkins and Ft Myers take on Tampa. https://www.mlb.com/tv/shows/mlbtv-featured-svod-video-list/milb-on-mlb-tv-teen-phenoms-jenkins-arias-face-off-115128
  6. Always one of my favorites, Curt Suzuki, scrappy, tough catcher. "Today, Suzuki is a baseball and soccer coach to his kids and a special assistant to Perry Minasian, the general manager of the Los Angeles Angels. While he helps with the team's pitchers and catchers, his time is much more centered on his children's lives at school and on the playing fields..." https://discovernikkei.org/en/journal/2023/6/25/family-man/#:~:text=Today%2C Suzuki is a baseball, and on the playing fields.
  7. Our friend Miguel, always open to new ways to miss the lineup. On the IL: "After starting a rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League, Sanó accidentally burned his left knee on May 25 because of a mishap with a heating pad. He was pulled from his rehab assignment on May 29 because the burn was severe enough that he needed further treatment. He resumed baseball activities on May 31 and played in his first game since the heating pad issue on June 8, recording one hit in three at-bats..." https://www.mlb.com/news/angels-injuries-and-roster-moves
  8. Shoot, I had the lad so stuffed full of junk at the end that he said, "No DQ, Morfar. I am full." His mum gave me the full riot act which I just brushed off. She's my kid at 48 and has given up on me.
  9. Chief and I briefly met up and it was time to get back to the game. Chief (left), DB (right). Observations: * Best crowd I have seen on Fathers' Day. 33K and change. * Had to leave at end of 5th. Grandson was melting. * Great game, concessions fully staffed, ushers were great as always. * City Connect uni's are awful. The effort to make it statewide (not just Twin Cities) so blurs the "connect" that there is no identifier. Using that color blue doesn't reach enough of a metaphor (10,000 Lakes). The theme just isn't ID'tified. Went with son-in-law (left), grandson (go St Anthony Huskies), and me on the right.
  10. Twins have new logo. https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/oakland-athletics-minnesota-twins-440616309/
  11. Final call. Meetup on Father's Day, Bottom of 3rd in concourse 112. Chief is on the marquee. Don't miss him. How can you pass that up. I will be wearing the Windsurge's Upside Down, neon cap. See post 1.
  12. I tune into the opponents booths. Can't deal w/Atteberry. Molitor has gotten more assertive in cutting in on Att's continuous monologues. Western North Dakota: I spoke at a bud's funeral in Dickinson in a January.. Observations: 1. My posterior muscles puckered. Warmest it got in 4 days was -5.* The wind never stopped. Muscles finally relaxed when I got on the plane in Bismarck. 2. The Walmart parking lot was full of Montana and South Dakota plates. People out there drive 100 miles to buy anything. Shoot, driving from St Paul to Edina is a day trip for me. 3. The 7-11 Stores had two entire aisles of beef sticks. I just stood there and stared at all the SlimJims. Never seen anything like it.
  13. Good broadcast team on KOA, Denver.
  14. https://www.mlb.com/twins/fans/city-connect?partnerId=it-20240610-10084239-min-1-A&utm_id=it-20240610-10084239-min-1-A
  15. Have tix for the 9th consecutive Fathers' Day of baseball with grandson and son-in-law. Jun 16. Ryan pitches no-hitter. Say hello? Meet near Soul Bowl, section 112. Bottom of the 3rd, leaving plenty of time to see game continue w/no hit bid. Raise your hand if you wish to meet up briefly. I will be wearing the neon Cowing Tipping hat (Windsurge's Latino Day hat).
  16. Is Gallo a 'dead horse' subject? Have game on MLB.TV. He is hitting .157, 121AB, 64Ks w/'da Mets.
  17. That is a leadership issue that needs to be addressed. Who steps up, Baldelli, Correa?
  18. Greene tosses against the Dodgers at 3pm today, free on MLB.TV. The Twins bypassed Greene when they selected Royce Lewis in the '17 draft. The Reds grabbed Greene on the second picture, 1st round.
  19. Tears flow. I worked 11 years to transform a 'dead zone' (former owner just poured on the synthetic chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides). I garden organically, adding cover crops in Fall (field beans, winter grains, daikon radishes. Sickled in Spring and turned under). Community gardens are all booked in St Anthony Village. <Sighs>. Plan. Each year 5 of us compete for our "Golden Trowel." (Past efforts have been tomatoes, sugar beets, yellow cakes, green peppers, etc). One bud is on the faculty at the Ag School at the University. He is giving me some space on the grounds at the U (shhhhh!). This years competition is pumpkins (1st phase/without prize). Prize goes to the guy who makes the best pumpkin pie in the Fall, as judged by our spouses. Fun and a ton of smack talk all year and bragging rights to the gent who delivers that prize winning pie. Wish me luck.
  20. Alexander is throwing a perfect game for Rays against Jays thru 6 for those with a chance to listen to watch the game.
  21. MLB sent me a video teaser yesterday. $70 for the rest of the year for all games, minus the games at home as well as when they play in Chicago, Detroit, and so on. I passed on it and will live with my 30 nightly audio broadcasts. No "muted" games and I don't need to listen to Atteberry.
  22. Rooker is looking good for A's this year (288/975). Sample large enough to make a statement. Game is on against Astros, live, on MLB.com TV (Thurs eve). Presley on the other hand, is having a tough year w/Astros. 16.1 inn, 5.51 ERA, 1.78 wHip.
  23. Berrios is throwing for the Jays this eve (Mon) against the Orioles. Free viewing on MLB.com.
