  1. There are no published rumblings. We have lived in 10 states and I have never seen such a lack of probing reporters as we have in the Cities. The local reporters are much too gentle, timid, or afraid to ask the hard questions, IMHO. Mike Berardino for the PP used to be good but he long ago moved on to cover Notre Dame/South Bend sports.
  2. " https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/41006792/tigers-ss-javier-baez-hip-undergo-season-ending-surgery
  3. Mize and Olson (pitchers)both just started again after 60 day and prolonged injuries. White and Faedo (Ps) done for the year. Baez is out for remainder of season. Tigers have gone with BP TWO beginners from BP on several games. Colt Keith just returned to lineup, albeit as DH. The young Mudhens have been busy, not laying eggs except on scoreboard.
  4. While injuries have impacted the Twins, it is a shallow argument for two reasons. 1. Everyone has injuries. The Tigers have been decimated but instead of folding, they are playing with youthful spirit; with heart and creative and inspired managing by Hinch. 2. Depth. How well has minor league development been achieved? How well have you scouted for HS/college talent? How ready are you for "next man up?"
  5. AL Central - record % of wins against teams greater than .500 Cleve is at .519 Tigers .490 KC .460 Twins .411
  6. Tigers up 2-0 in the second against the black and orange birds.
  7. Matt Bowman sipped a cappuccino this Spring with the Twins. Have the Tiger/Orioles game on. Bowman pitche'd one inn in relief. His 4th MLB team this year as well as 3 MiLB teams. I imagine his head is spinning more than his curve ball with 7 different pitching coaches.
  8. Gore throwing NH against Cubs thru six. 80 pitches.
  9. Have the Reds game on and Busenitz served up a meatball to the Pirates' #9 hitter. Lower deck, left field., bottom of the 9th.
  10. KC loses 2-1; Tigers lost; Cleve won.
  11. KC down 2-0, at home, bases loaded 1 out bottom of 9th.
  12. Bosox radio booth asking what Rocco is doing sending Margot to hit there, sporting his 0-29.
  13. What is the definition of insanity...expecting different results?
  14. 26 runners left on base; 15/11, Bosox/Twins. These are playoff teams?
  15. Grab Joe Castigliano on Bosox radio while you can. His last year; 40+ yrs in the booth.
  16. Nah, can't go there. We have all played the game, be it from pickup games to college ball. Competitive spirit drives.
  17. I am not convinced of anything by the chart. I understand the logic but can't help understanding how 3 young men, in prime age, are dead tired after an average of 115 games among them between MiLB and MLB.
  18. You guys need to get interviewed on "Baseball is Dead." Jered is a big Red Sox promoter and has/had a podcast on the Sox.
  19. Yanks/Mariners game on. Polanco flirting with the Mendoza line, .201.
