  1. Personally, as far as I'm concerned keep using him this year, but he's one of my cuts from the 40-man at the end of the season. I could see re-signing him to a minor league deal and putting him at Rochester next year. He's the same as Mastroianni and Presley. We can find a better option out there.
  2. I said this elsewhere. This is the same age that Willingham was when he switched from catcher to LF. I don't see Pinto as any less coordinated than the Hammer. Let him play some outfield in winter ball and see if he's good enough (and maybe some 1B as well). If you can give him time at C, LF, 1B and DH next year, it would be worth it and he would spell Vargas, Mauer, Suzuki and whoever our regular LF will be and get his bat in on a regular basis.
  3. So it was a one game series against the Indians? And why did the Royals decide to trade for all these guys, they were doing so well with the team they had. OKAY, I fixed it.
  4. 26 or 27 was about when Willingham moved from catcher to LF. If they don't like him as a catcher, I would have him try the OF in winter ball this year. I can't imagine that he could be much worse defensively than the Hammer was. If nothing else, the versitility would increase his value as trade bait - I'd even play him at 1B as well.
  5. We don't know if they have passed through waivers. We hadn't heard anything before KC and the Hammer were traded. My guess is that they have at this point, along with some other guys.
  6. I prefer the speed of Hicks and Santana at the bottom of the lineup. Bunching Hicks, Santana, Buxton and Dozier together gives a nice balance of speed and power. But I wuldn't have a problem flipping Dozier and Mauer.
  7. I've noticed that lately the blue alternate the Twins are using both on the road and at home is the one that says "Minnesota" on it. What happened to the blue home alternate that says "Twins" on it? It's still listed in the uniform database, Anyone know? http://images.pictureshunt.com/pics/m/minnesota_twins_jersey-9497.jpg
  8. Correct - he is out for the year.
  9. I know you were probably jokng, but I'd consider him right near the top as Twins MVP (not league). Remembering the state of CF (and the OF in general) when he came on board, when we had Nunez in LF, Escobar in CF and Parmelee in RF for a game (not to mention Florimon at SS), he has come in and stabilized that situation nicely. Where would we be if he hadn't stepped into CF and leadoff?
  10. You guys just don't get it. The SS of the future is definitely Florimon - no one else should be considered.
  11. Would love to see you more positive Mike. Would also like to see more wins. This is starting to remind me of 1981 and the changes that year which lead to a lineup which included Hrbek, Gaetti, Brunansky, Laudner, etc. in 1982 and the World Championship in 1987. (But I see better pitching in this version and a quicker WS title.)
  12. Lineup Change Again: So I guess they flip-flopped Schafer (LF) and Parmelee (RF).
  13. I guess I was right - so long Hammer!!
  14. Lineup Change: Plouffe moves from 7 to 5, Parmelee in LF batting 7.
  15. Return for the Hammer looks to be a big kid 6'4" and 225. Above average FB (65/80), avg Slider, working on curve and change. Was rated 9 on KC's prospect list before season, now 16. Probably similar to Butera for Sulbaran. Frees up a spot on the 40-man (Maybe Meyer?) Good luck to the Hammer - beat those kitties!
  16. So I guess he's not in LF.
  17. Gardy said a few days ago - "if Kennys goes, I go with him". I guess that puts the Gardy haters in an odd situation - they want Gardy to leave but probably want to keep Vargas.
  18. My gut tells me multiple guys have already passed through waivers. We never heard anything about Correia making it through. The FO keeps info close to the vest, so a trade might take place soon.
  19. My guess is Johnson takes over next year for Duensing.
  20. I say that Arcia goes to the DL today when they activate Mauer (Parmelee goes to RF). Pino gets the start tomorrow and gets sent down after the game for Nolasco. Rotation for rest of year - Gibson, Hughes, Nolasco, May and Milone.
  21. What? You mean you didn't like Les Straker, Joe Neikro and Mike Smithson/Steve Carlton/Alan Anderson? They did win 18 games in total.
  22. Now that Milone takes KC's place, Pino goes down when Nolasco is back. Will the Hammer be traded to make room for Mauer?
  23. In many ways it appears Pinto's defensive abilities shadow those of Matt LeCroy. Whether or not they can improve that waits to be seen.
  24. Here's great news - Rockies have DFA'd Jason Pridie!!!!! Maybe he's comin' back.
  25. Doc, They wore the jersey twice as Sunday alternates at home (April 6 and 27) in '97. Radke started both games and they lost 12-2 to the Royals and 7-3 to the Rangers. TK hated the jerseys and they dropped them. They were commonly known as the DQ jerseys. Like I said, I've always wanted a TC jersey, and the one that Thry shows is not quite as bright as the '97 version. With a new young team, a new alternate might be nice. I'm not sure what I would use for the cap, the red with blue brim might be nice, but might be a little too much red, but I do like the muted red as opposed to the bright red.
