  1. Last Sunday's bench: Morales, Mauer, Pinto and Nunez Today's bench: Nunez, Fryer, Parmelee, Florimon
  2. Thry - You can throw Duensing and Swarzak into your list as well. Personally, I'd take Theilbar over Duensing.
  3. Guaranteed runs this inning with Duensing
  4. We might as well put Burton and Duensing in now, then we can't use them tomorrow.
  5. Hammer, I agree, but I have no confidence in Duensing - period. I guarantee he's about to fall off the edge of the earth. We should trade him while his numbers look decent. But Burton has already fallen off the earth, if you get one good outing out of 10 you're lucky. I'd dump Guerrier as well, just so Gardy isn't tempted to use him in a crucial situation. We have plenty of guys at Rochester who could take their places.
  6. If all these numbers are right, they've saved over $218,000 so far. Nice!
  7. On a one day contract in the offseason please. We've seen enough over-the-hill former Twins on this team this year.
  8. Don't even think of bringing Burton in today.
  9. Hunter was very similar to Hicks. Even after a full season in the bigs, he needed to be sent back to AAA before he figured it out at age 26. Hicks is only 24 and has yet to play a full season in Rochester. He was rushed up because of the 2 trades before he was ready. I hope the Twins don't give up on him. I think he has the potential to be a late bloomer like Hunter and Gomez and if they toss him out, he'll bloom somewhere else. (Gomez was also 26 before he got it - his 3rd season with Milwaukee).
  10. Who do you trust in your current Twins bullpen? Rate the pitchers by saying how many games in 10 you trust them to have a good outing. I'll give you my ratings: Perkins: definately 9/10 games he does a great job. Fien: I'd give him a 9/10 as well Theilbar: 8/10 Then it drops: Swarzak: 4.5/10 - He's inconsistent. I think we could do better, but he's not horrible. Duensing: 2.5/10 - His numbers might look okay, but I just don't trust him. This might be a good time to trade him to someone to get a C prospect. Guerrier: 2/10 - His numbers look okay so far, but you just know it'll blow up sooner or later. Burton: 1/10 - If I could go negative on my scale, I would. He's gone beyond his usefulness. At a minimum, I would drop the bottom three ASAP. The Twins need to see what they have on the forty-man and see if they have a future. I want to know if Ibarra has a future. If we dropped those three, I'd like to add Pino and see what he could bring. If Meyer is on an innings watch, think what he could bring as a reliever in the majors for the rest of the season. Our starters could go 6 innings, with the 7th, 8th and 9th going to Meyer, Fien and Perkins - lights out. Pino would be a great swing man for long relief in place of Swarzak. And I wouldn't mind having Johnson, Darnell and Tonkin being added as well.
  11. I think it has to be Fryer - Herrmann is still listed on the DL. Bye-the-bye Herrmann is also listed as an OF'er. If he wasn't injured, I suspect they would have brought him up as an extra CF option if Hicks goes on the DL.
  12. If you move up Meyer before next season, it's one year earlier to free agency - that's what the Twins are thinking.
  13. No more than 2 guys from any team can play in the futures game. The Twins have multiple candidates - Vargas will probably be one, Meyer could be the second, I'd say May will be up within 2 weeks.
  14. Add to that some tuition money bringing total to $4 million - but only slot amount counts toward total.
  15. I've been advocating this for ages. This is why I just don't trust him. Dump him and bring up Ibarra or Johnson. Then dump Burton for Tonkin.
  16. Nice bench today - Morales, Suzuki, Mauer & Hicks
  17. If Morales started at 1B today, it would have been 67% Actually make that 70% with Deduno

  20. It's now on the Twins web site - you'd think they'd say something now
  21. I'm with you Mike - pitching changes next please (Corriea, Guerrier, Burton and Duensing gone)
  22. I guess they have a better relationship with Scott Boras than I thought
  23. Why have they said nothing on the broadcast?
