  2. @h2oface Now take a look, I changed the related video widget to our brand red color, which makes it stand out as separate videos from the rest of the page.
  3. Jax received a raw deal last night. I liked the vote of confidence from Baldelli by trotting him back out there for the fifth, at which point Jax induced what should have been three outs had Arraez not looped that terrible throw away from first base. The 2022 Twins need to focus on actual POSITION players. I don't see space for the likes of all of Larnach, Sano, Rooker, and Arraez all on the same roster.
  4. I'll work on differentiating these two sections more clearly.

  6. Twins Daily has been talking about video internally for the past... 5+ years... or more... But as you may have noticed, we finally started dabbling in video around the trade deadline, only dipping our toe in for starters. We had a few stops and starts and bumps along the way as we learned a lot about how to display video and integrate them into the site. We're definitely still learning and expect to see significant changes along the way but we've moved to the next step of video: a permanent page to present and archive all our videos! Right now, the bulk of the video content is from our own @Tom Froemming and his great (almost) nightly recaps but that's just the beginning, we have a lot more in the works from many names you'll recognize that we'll be rolling out in the coming months. As with the rest of Twins Daily, expect the same great, daily content that breaks down not only the Minnesota Twins but also their minor league affiliates, particularly the St Paul Saints and Wichita Wind Surge! You can also check out a few of our vintage Twins highlight reels with our partners at TC Media Now, of which we hope to expand upon in the coming months! Check out the new Twins Daily video page and let us know what you think!
  7. Louie Varland struck out seven more batters for Cedar Rapids tonight to put himself over the 100-strikeout mark on the season. Also, Nick Gordon hit a home run for St. Paul, Trey Cabbage and Spencer Steer went back-to-back to hit both of their 21st homers of the season and 5-8 catcher Jeferson Morales hit his first home run since being promoted to Cedar Rapids. The Twins were off Thursday, but here are some highlights from the prospects.

  17. I grew up watching Puckett and then moved to San Diego and watched Gwynn for a decade. Man, I got to watch some good baseball on a nightly basis. But Arraez, if healthy, is a lot more Gwynn than Puckett. And I hope to watch him for years to come.
  18. The Twins have a relatively decent chance to finish the season in second place, which is absurd.

@bighat Yeah, Cleveland has gone into a bit of a freefall after losing basically their entire rotation, the biggest strength of the team. It was to be expected, I suppose.

RpR - I did look last week and saw that the Twins were the best of all last place teams, however they'd still be in last place in every single division with their record. So the Central has the best last-place team at the time, if that makes sense.

S'pose it's moot now that the Twins are on the upswing. Funny how KC, which has looked like a much better team than Minnesota while playing the Twins, can't seem to beat anyone else.

The Twins have plenty of games left with the teams in the chase for second place.. There can be a quite a change in positions if a team has motivation. There is no reasonable shot to make up that many games in the loss column and leapfrog three teams. Making up 9 more losses than the GUARDIANS is not reasonable.

  19. I don't disagree but I'd like to see the team move Donaldson in the offseason and Sano cannot be trusted. Rooker is more of a longshot for the 2022 roster but I'm not writing him off entirely yet.
  20. Rooker's only hope to stick with the Twins is to hit enough to hold down DH, keeping Sano at first next season... but then that causes a roster pinch across all the corner positions. So... dunno?
  21. Yeah, I'm currently chasing my own tail on this one. I thought I had it resolved yesterday and it came right back, still trying to figure out how to prevent it.
  22. I only popped in and out of the broadcast. Was today Kaat's last day? I feel both sad and satisfied to hear that. Kaat is a good analyst but he's getting up there in age and the game has changed a lot. I'm sad to see him go but understand why it's time. It's nowhere near a Blyleven situation where I'm ready to tell him about doors hitting and asses and ways out. I genuinely like Kaat and think he does a pretty good job but the game is shifting and he has become more stodgy about it every year.
  23. I'm not really sure what to think of Maeda for 2022 but it's pretty obvious something weird was going on with him before he ultimately went on the IL. 24. That seems high but in today's game, it's really not. Sano will be a very productive hitter with a K rate around 30%. Here's hoping this latest trend continues through the end of the season.
