JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 And a heckuva lot more fun than having runners at 1st and 3rd with no outs AND NO ONE BRINGING ANYONE IN. Sounds like last year.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I think you've just encapsulated a lot of fears about this season. The same fears from watching last season... Uninspired baseball. You gotta compete!!! I can spot lolligagging from a mile away. At least I think that's lolligagging... I didn't wash my glasses this morning.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 First and third, no outs. K, followed by K, followed by K. Ick.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I'd take having the radio announcers on TV anytime over Dick and Bert.
James Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 First and third, no outs. K, followed by K, followed by K. Ick.That called for the "wah wuh" sound.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Well we've been averaging .4 runs a game this spring so with the full run yesterday getting a run today might be a lot to ask!
James Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Well, the strike outs seem to be carrying over from last year.
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Ok... Let's not cue up the Boomtown Rats with this crowd. Let's not cue up the Carpenters either. Let's go into Monday with optimism. Any Bangles love?
James Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Any Bangles love?Is Bangles love a real thing?
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Any Bangles love? How 'bout the Go-Go's? "We got beat."
zenser Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 On the radio broadcast, Provus said he asked Gardy about catching Suzuki and DH'ing Pinto and Gardy said he is fine with doing that and he plans on doing it. Where was that philosophy when Butera was around?
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Baby Steps... Long fly... Then warning track... Then off the wall... Then in the seats... Then a no doubter.... If he follows that pattern.. He will reach the upper deck by 2016. 2016? The bleachers at Wrigley don't have an upper deck.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Twins trivia: This is what constitutes improvement 1. Runners at 1st and 3rd and no one out and K, K, K 2. Runners at 1st and 2nd and no one out and K, Fly, K. See? 2 seems marginally better than 1
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 You should be able to score a run or two by accident, you'd think. Maybe that's how we have been scoring?
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Watching on FSN; at the moment Provus is interviewing Rob Antony. Antony just sounds really uncomfortable at public speaking. Not TK uncomfortable, but clearly he'll be happy when Ryan is back. Ryan's not a natural either. I imagine the front office has had training, but if I was Pohlad or St Peter I would bring in a Public Speaking trainer and make at least a day mandatory for everyone all the way down to the ticket sellers, a week for anyone who is there as a career, and at least a refresher course once a year. It's that bad.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 On the bright side Bartlett has his average up over .100!
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Is Bangles love a real thing? Susannah Hoffs was very fetching... Probably still is!!!
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Ick. You owe ChiTown royalties for use of her catchword.
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 That called for the "wah wuh" sound.
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Well we've been averaging .4 runs a game this spring so with the full run yesterday getting a run today might be a lot to ask! I departed the game moments too soon. Blink and you can miss it.
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 On the radio broadcast, Provus said he asked Gardy about catching Suzuki and DH'ing Pinto and Gardy said he is fine with doing that and he plans on doing it. Where was that philosophy when Butera was around? Butera would be a terrible DH.
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Susannah Hoffs was very fetching... Probably still is!!! Imagine the love child she and Brian Dozier could create.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I departed the game moments too soon. Blink and you can miss it. 'Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink.'
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 That's some movement on Deduno's pitch to strike out Gomes. Brian, were you aware of that?
James Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Imagine the love child she and Brian Dozier could create. So it's Susannah Hoffs love, not necessarily Bangles love.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Deduno dominant once again. He should be our ace, not our mop up man.
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 'Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink.' Who?
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 What Twins pitcher (or two or three) will ask to take regular batting practice thinking he could hit better than 1/2 the starting line-up?
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Imagine the love child she and Brian Dozier could create. Hope Chi Town is gone this statement would depress her greatly.
James Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 What Twins pitcher (or two or three) will ask to take regular batting practice thinking he could hit better than 1/2 the starting line-up?Nolasco or Pelf. Those are my guesses.
