Think About Kevin Slowey... OK that's enough thinking about him. He used to be a Twin... He's not now. 2. Think about Stretching Out... It's gotta be closer to the time when starters start going a little longer to get ready for those 100 pitch outings in the regular season. I noticed Corbin for the D-Backs threw quite a few innings yesterday. The D-Backs and Dodgers timeline is probably a little more advanced because they are starting in Australia early this year. 3. Think about Stanton... Not in the Lineup... He's fun to watch. We won't be watching him. 4. Think about Power... The Twins are not exactly hitting the ball out of the park this spring. Willingham... Plouffe... Kubel... Arcia are all in the lineup today batting 4 through 7 in the lineup. While it's only spring training... Those 4 have combined for 88 Spring Training At Bats and have produced a total of 2 dingers. Are these 4 going to provide exceptional defense or speed? I don't think so... I think they need to hit the ball out of the park at least 20 times a piece this year. I'll keep telling myself it's only Spring Training. 5. Think about my friends son... I was talking on the phone with a friend of mine. It had been awhile since we talked and in the process of catching up. He told me that his 22 year old son had gotten divorced two years ago after two years of marriage with one small child. Looking for a fresh start from a bad breakup... His son moved to California and was struggling to make ends meet with his financial support payments. He had taken a side job working on a parsley farm and was getting by until the ex-wife heard about the extra income. He was just recently informed that wages from that side job would be garnished. I started laughing and my friend didn't understand why I started laughing. Garnish is a real possibility... If you work with parsley.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 6. Think of me. I'm at the game. It's beautiful here, AGAIN, today! Also, ran into Stringer ... good guy! We SE Minnesota types have to stick together
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Trying out one of the new areas and sitting in the grandstand. Here's my vantage.
Chance Provisional Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Great job as usual, RB. I believe this is the opening day lineup, with the exception of Parm for Kubel. How about that left right lineup?
snepp Verified Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Yay, I actually get to watch a game!
snepp Verified Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I'm just waiting for the camera shot of section 125.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 The outbound breeze is pretty strong. It took both those by Arcia and Escobar. My seat was pretty shady for the first 3 innings. Now coming into fu on sun. Wish I hD my SPF 50 today.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Well, it's officially a season as I'm already irritated by the official scoring.
ppearson50 Provisional Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Kubel is not doing much at all. Hard to keep Kubel and Bartlett on a team that is trying to build for 2015 and 2016.
oldguy10 Provisional Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I doubt that there is anyone that posts here that thinks either Kubel or Bartlett should make the trip North unless it is to Rochester, N.Y. and not the Twin Cities. I never did get management's thinking on the decisions to sign those two..................Oh wait, I think they are doing it as a favor to the Saint Paul Saints in helping with their expenses, that is the league the two of them belong in anyway. And now Colabello will probably make the team, another move I am not crazy about either. Sorry to be so critical but...................

jokin Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 4. Think about Power... The Twins are not exactly hitting the ball out of the park this spring. Nope, that still doesn't do it for me.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Winnah! Nice to meet Chitown at the game. Pretty good pitching and a sharper performance in the field. The sun is also great for middle-aged aches and pains.
Old Twins Cap Verified Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Slowey throws his fastball by Mauer on a 2-0 count -- the Twins' best player.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Slowey throws his fastball by Mauer on a 2-0 count -- the Twins' best player. Joe's probably going to be thinking about that lost ST opportunity for awhile. Hopefully he can move on.
