Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Greetings from Florida. Wish I could be at today's game but other duties prevail. It's a nice sunny day here today but a bit breezy; temps should hit 80 today. What is it in Minnesota today? ashbury Verified Member Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Whew, Suzuki in the second spot. It's just a spring lineup, but that's an indictment of the three guys batting 7-8-9, all of whom have skillsets suggesting leadoff or second but none of whom have as yet forced their way up there their based on performance. Mastro's my adopt-a-prospect guy from a couple seasons ago so I'll forever root for him but I'm losing hope at this point; Escobear is the one who has a chance.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2014 Author Posted March 14, 2014 Oy posted the wrong opponent and no one said anything???
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Oy posted the wrong opponent and no one said anything??? I just got home for a quick lunch and turned the game on. I noticed the Rays and decided (conditioned actually) to just pretend I was watching the Rays instead. I've learned over the years that if the ladies say the sky is green. It's green.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2014 Author Posted March 14, 2014 Ha! And the lineup changed, too ...
Jim Crikket Provisional Member Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Pinto and Santana with back to back rockets vs the Yankees. Single for Pinto, double for Santana. Nice to see them making some really solid contact.
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Ha! And the lineup changed, too ... Spring is a confusing time. I thought the Twins were playing the Yankees, and Hicks was leading off. Oh wait. They are, and he is. Split squad. So. Mistakes can happen in an overly rich environment like that. I don't think it phases anybody. "How come Jeter's wearing a Pirates uniform? Wait, all the Yankees are. And when did they make Steinbach the Twins manager? Oh well, it's a nice day. Where's that beer vendor?"
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2014 Author Posted March 14, 2014 I just added the lineups for the Yankee game, too. Two games, one stop shopping.
Jim Crikket Provisional Member Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Bartlett with another well hit line drive that's run down in the LCF gap. The man can not buy a break.
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Bartlett with another well hit line drive that's run down in the LCF gap. The man can not buy a break. Yes, Ellsbury's got quite the glove.
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 I just added the lineups for the Yankee game, too. Two games, one stop shopping. The Pirates are playing the Phillies. That could be an interesting one too. Can you please add their lineups? Looks like it's 4-2 Philly, in the 6th. Manhsip did well in his 4 innings.
Jim Crikket Provisional Member Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Yes, Ellsbury's got quite the glove. Actually was Flores who ran Bartlett down in LCF, but whatever. Eric Ferris just dropped a bases loaded blooper on the chalk in RF that bounced in to the seats for a ground rule double.

Jim Crikket Provisional Member Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Twins beating up on the Yankees that didn't make the trip to Panama, 7-3. middle of 6. Time to switch to basketball.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Matty G in against the Orioles.

JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Typed too soon. Twins can pull out win but at least it shouldn't be another L.

Anyone have any thoughts on Bigley for the 2014 season? He hit two bombs yesterday to help win the game.

DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Why, Dave, why? If the shoe (name) fits?
Otwins Verified Member Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Went to yanks twins. First 3 yanks got hits . Twins pitchers then got 27 outs no more hits. Twins made 3 poor fielding plays in 1st inning. Santana did not catch Arcia throw, Romero dropped a cutoff throw and Pinto had a passed ball. Arcia struck out twice with man on third and one out. The good news- Collabello picked up Arcia both times with 2 out hits. Dozier hr was a no doubter - he hit it off Phelps so it wasn't a minor league pitcher. Santana can hit and run, can't field erratic arm .Hicks played well. Doubled left handed.
