Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 aww, geez ... no hammertime this time
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Willie Wilson wouldn't have scored on that fly to right. Kipnis could have caught that ball facing the infield. OK. Thanks for the visual, which I was lacking. Mini-rant about 21 megasimoleons withdrawn.
Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 I'm not usually one to complain about umps and strike zones, but....this guy has been terrible thus far. Just horrible.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Indians are playing fundamentally flawed baseball. They probably have enough talent going against the rag-tag Twins' lineup to overcome it. That is basically why I have a hard time getting worked up over a single mistake by a Twins' pitcher in a lost season and/or blaming the manager.
Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Plouffe has hit .176 in his career with the bases loaded? I didn't even know it was mathematically possible to be that bad.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Wow, this thread is full of doom and gloom today. Maybe this will help: I just love mountain pictures.
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Capsule movie review: Blue Jasmine is an excellent character study and the raves for Blanchett's performance are deserved, but anyone harboring fears for their own sanity maybe shouldn't go. This review pretty much sums it up for me. Also, a friend who is a psychiatrist has said that this movie has increased his business.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 did Dick just drop an f-bomb when that foul ball hit near their booth?Uhh, I don't think Dick even knows the f-bomb. Isn't he the guy who wouldn't use the word "hell" in reading a promo?
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 I prefer Blue Valentine to Blue Velvet. Both movies have very depressing plots, but at least in Blue Valentine Michelle Williams has a topless scene. I think that there is something about female nudity that dissipates depression.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Uhh, I don't think Dick even knows the f-bomb. Isn't he the guy who wouldn't use the word "hell" in reading a promo? I had a golf partner who used to always go "Oh fiddlesticks!" when she hit a shot wrong. I used to tell her "It's OK. You can say 'fudge' if you want."
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Kipnis and Santana have owned the Twins this year. Asdrubal and Swisher have been owned. Interesting how that goes.
Steve Penz Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Why is Ramirez playing while Arcia sits?
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Why is Ramirez playing while Arcia sits? Is his wrist acting up again? He had been out a few games until he played last night.
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Please let's just get the double play here so I can go pick up breakfast.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Jeez. Watching Pelfrey pitch makes me nostalgic for the good old days when dentistry was done with anesthesia.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Wow, this thread is full of doom and gloom today. Maybe this will help: I just love mountain pictures. Since I have contributed more than my share of gloom, here is maybe an example of why. On a cloudless day that should have a sky full of blue, the fire at Yosemite a hundred miles away has our mountain photos looking like this: Hack kaff.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Why is Ramirez playing while Arcia sits?If Ramirez isn't going to play when the Twins are facing a LHer, he has no place on this team. Which might be the case anyway, but for right now he is, so.
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Pitching change time! Six walks is enough for 1 game.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to be critical - just felt the need to post something uplifting. We've got our share of fire problems in Idaho too. Then Friday we had a flash flood. Figures.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Pelfrey just keeps nibbling and nibbling. I don't know if it would be different if the score was different, but man it is annoying. The thing is that Cleveland isn't making good contact that often, but he keeps putting guys on. Well, he got through the fifth, but he won't/can't go deep after throwing so many pitches.

IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Couldn't resist posting this - Twins need every help they can get.
Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Doumit took a year and a half to wind up and throw that ball to first.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 You have been reported to the American Diabetic Institute.
