The Orioles are allegedly open to trading anyone not named Pete Alonso. An under the radar first baseman trade candidate might be Coby Mayo.

According the MLBTR:

"Mayo’s third base defense was subpar and he struck out at a 30.4% clip but he hit 24 home runs, leading to a .228/.297/.461 line and 112 wRC+. He also finished stronger than he started. He had a .193/.264/.395 line in the first half while striking out 32.5% of the time, but then hit .270/.337/.540 in the second half with a 27% strikeout rate."

Struggling at 3rd is a common gateway towards thriving or performing  average at first base. He'll also only be 25 when the season starts which slots nicely with our other building blocks.

The same article states the O's are looking for pitching, OF, and catching help. I wonder if a Zebby Matthews might be of interest for Mayo?

He's projected to be about 15-20 percent better than the average hitter, which would put him around the 20 th best first basement. Now, that's all predictions, so taken with salt.... But what's that worth?

Could Rodriguez match that, and play first? Roden?

That's much better than Clemens is projected, but not what Keaschell is. I'm not convinced Keaschell can play first....

He's not a free agent for a long time.... Ryan for mayo and a pitching prospect? I'm not sure that actually works?

At the top of my list would be Samuel Basallo…but his price would be STEEP!

Jordan Westburg, when healthy, has been well above average offensively and defensively.  In two seasons he has produced a 126 and 115 OPS+.  When healthy is the key….he missed all of 2026 after having TJ surgery in May and had a few other 10-day IL stints.  He could probably be acquired fairly cheap given his injury history and under control for 3 more years.

I might be willing to discuss Jackson Holiday as well…depending on the cost to acquire.

Mayo holds no interest for me but Westburg was a decent player before the injury. The Twins are pretty set at 2B, 3B, SS unless they go big and gamble on signing a slugger like Brandon Lowe. Not sure we match up with the Orioles.
