The lineup to which David Wells threw a perfect game was a dandy.

I saw that game, but I think at least half of our lineup was above .250 and I seem to think we had at least one .300 hitter in the lineup.

I checked. 5 plus .250 hitters. Nobody over .300. Uglier than I remember:

Dang, we're down 1-0. I was hoping we kept them scoreless- then we go to penalty kicks, and at that point anything can happen. Now we're in trouble.

Aug 26, 1981. They used 13 field players. The highest BA was .263 (John Castino). The highest OPS was .705 (Herbie). Your shortstop was Lenny Faedo, .167/.333. Your DH was Chuck Baker, .164/.364. Three Twins batting over .250 (out of 13). Two Twins with an OPS over .640 (Herbie and Danny Goodwin).
