This is interesting but doesn't seem right. In the second sentence of your explanation, if there's a runner on 1b and the first baseman fields a ball and steps on the bag (first base) before the batter-runner gets there, that removes the force at 2nd and THAT is why the runner heading to 2nd has to be tagged. But you're saying if the first baseman for example accidentally misses the bag entirely when trying to step on it that the force at 2nd is still removed because he gave it the ol' college try? With Clemons safe at 1b, Bell cannot also occupy 1b and so to me is still forced to 2nd.

He was traded for Pablo Lopez ….. how did Twins swing that?

Miami had a GM that signed him and she was gone after one year - organization did a 180 on spending.

San Diego let him go because they are spending a fortune on roster & GM was instructed to reduce spending….Darvish - Machado - Tatis - Boegarts - Musgrove - Pivetta - etc.

Giants let him go because they are bad and need new blood - they let Robbie Ray go as well and he has a 3.08 ERA. They would get rid of Chapman & Rafael Devers if anyone would pay their contracts.

Arraez was a poor defender and a little soft when with Twins ….no longer the case. Solid at 2B in ‘26 per ALL the baseball pundits & he’s played 144 - 147 - 150 - 154 games including  his last year in Minnesota.

I understand that we stink against LH pitching.  But this focus on a RH bat I think is misplaced.  Focus on getting the best nine players in your starting lineup.  Yes there may be a position that platoons maybe two.  We face LH pitching a lot less than RH pitching, I want to see the focus on quality.  This is what has led to having guys like Margot and Garlick on the roster and even Gray this year because they want a LH hitting backup infielder.
