I’ll take the over on Culpepper and Houston. Where is he gonna play then other than AAA? 1) No, I disliked the trade when it happened and I've kept tabs on Miller ever since, 2) I don't need you to guess or overestimate my state of angst about anything, and 3) he could wind up a valuable backup infielder. I took a look at the guys drafted just before or after his #36 overall slot and major league backup is looking like a good outcome relatively speaking to any of those other guys. I expect Culpepper and Houston to both turn out better than Miller, befitting their respective spots in the draft. Thanks for the entertaining series of strawmen in one post, I guess.

Wow, so many words to stake claim to a maybe back up infielder.

I'd bet Miller is available in the rule 5 again this offseason. Unless the Dodgers protect him as their Rojas replacement. If the Twins had gone all in on the rebuild and were going to throw a Lee-Houston-Culpepper-Lewis IF out there next year to get the future started, Miller would be an interesting thought as the backup IF for that group. Since that isn't their path, Miller doesn't really fit here as a rule 5 pick. But he wouldn't be the most shocking pick ever for a rebuilding team to throw out there as their utility IF for the 2027 season. Linus 1

Rule 5 is an investment, in terms of an inflexible roster spot, that probably goes too far for my tastes. I just said I wished he was still with us, instead of that crappy trade. Not, that we should go-get'um. Cris E 1
