Wow, have you seen the return for Peralta and Skuball?

Peralta brought the Mets 3 prospects.  None of them are in the Rays top 30.

Skuball was also reasonable 1 top 100 prospect and 1 top 200 and a third prospect.

I wonder why we didn't push the cost up

According to which rankings.  Most I have seen have Skubal for 2 top 75 prospects

The rays traded their 15th, 26th and 27th. Their system is as deep or deeper than the Twins. Peralta has had a rough year plus is only a 2 month rental.

Skubal brought a top 25 and top 70 prospect who the Tigers really liked. I do think Detroit could have gotten more but that’s a lot for a rental.

If you're a Tigers fan, it's hard not to like the return for a rental, even if it's the best rental in the league. As a Twins fan, I don't want Hope and Ryan in the Tigers system.

The Mets got nothing back because they traded away a guy who apparently can only pitch well while wearing a Brewers uniform.

Hard to know how good any of these players (the traded prospects) are or whether they can contribute at the major league level at some point. Because I watch Wichita, I have seen Hope play a number of times. He wasn't particularly impressive in my extremely limited views (maybe 5 games). The prospect guys do what they can and they have relevance to judging talent to some extent. I wouldn't trade Winokur for Hope though, just from my viewing.
