Question of the week: do you care more about a floor or a cap?

One thing that doesn't fit the binary of floor/cap but that I think could be nearly as important is stopping deferred contracts.  Ohtani costs the Dodgers $2MM a year right now, which allows them to spend ridiculous money on other free agents.  I get they will pay it at the other end but $68MM in 2038 is not the same as 68MM in 2026.  (See current inflation rates)
