Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Gardy can't even work up a good rant. He practically had to ask the ump to toss him.
MichiganTwins Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 "That was a really bad call" says the radio
James Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Well, I wasn't expecting to see that from Florimon.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Up in the show, they call that a "hanger," meat.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 So that's what it takes to light a fire under this team? A disputed call? Good shot, Pedro
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Gardy can't even work up a good rant. He practically had to ask the ump to toss him. You'd think that at a minimum that call was worth a hat throw or kicking dirt on home plate.
James Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 "That was a really bad call" says the radioIt was an awful call. Thomas was running perfectly in the baseline. He got hit with the throw while stepping on first base. I don't know how you could be out of the baseline if you're stepping on the base. Just shameful.
MichiganTwins Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Thanks for the play by play; radio was not helpful.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 So we need to get to page 3 in this thread, what are the chances Cano resigns? To get to page 3 we'll have to start talking about beaver tails again.
MichiganTwins Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Gardy should say Perkins must pitch everyday. Working out well today.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 To get to page 3 we'll have to start talking about beaver tails again.Redundant.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 That 3rd strike looked low.Doumit's fault.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I guess a Florimon home run isn't the worst way to score a couple of runs.

He was kicking up chalk on every stride. ridiculous call by Blue. But it happens every game the Twins play the Yanks.

ashbury Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Did it sound like the game came back from commercial break and Coomer was in the middle of eating something and continued to do so through the duration of his mid-game recap? He used to bring a ham sandwich with him up to bat, so this wouldn't be unusual.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Fien is in -- bring in Perkins if he gets in trouble?
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I just hope that the strike zone stays the same for the remainder of this game. How sad would it be for the Yankees to score three or four this inning. Obviously, we're all thinking about it anyway.

Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Floor-E-moan is having a heck of an inning.
James Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 more like Thomas was running perfectly ON the baseline. He was kicking up chalk on every stride. ridiculous call by Blue. But it happens every game the Twins play the Yanks.Oh, that's why he was called out. He ran the base line too well.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I'm going to disagree with the outrage on the call against Thomas at first base. I watched the play, and he was in fair territory the whole time up the baseline. He was not in the "running lane" that is marked on the field. Rule 6.05(k) and attached comment make it pretty clear the umpire called it correctly. It sucks, but that's baseball. (k) In running the last half of the distance from home base to first base, while the ballis being fielded to first base, he runs outside (to the right of) the three-foot line, orinside (to the left of) the foul line, and in the umpire’s judgment in so doing interferes with the fielder taking the throw at first base, in which case the ball is dead;except that he may run outside (to the right of) the three-foot line or inside (to theleft of) the foul line to avoid a fielder attempting to field a batted ball;Rule 6.05(k) Comment: The lines marking the three-foot lane are a part of that lane and abatter-runner is required to have both feet within the three-foot lane or on the lines marking the lane. The batter-runner is permitted to exit the three-foot lane by means of a step, stride, reach or slide in theimmediate vicinity of first base for the sole purpose of touching first base.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Redundant. I'm just trying to get RB to post those pictures again. I'm having a sweet tooth attack.
