Geez, what the heck happened with Miranda? Looked like a potential building block player in 2022 and is now out of the organization. Not sure if that has more to do with the player or more to do with organizational philosophies and player development (or lack thereof).

Time number four for attempting to post this as this site continues to have a problem with my server

Briefly. Regression exists. Feel free to show me it doesn’t.  You responded about injuries this year when the conversation was about next season. You are correct. The injuries could well affect the team next year and cause decline. That wasn’t the intent of your comment, but it is accurate for the situation.

The Guardians’ pitching injuries are there as a problem. All it takes is a look. If they have a problem, they don’t have a backup. That is what happened to both Detroit and the Twins.

The Twins had Michael Taylor, Manuel Margot (who was decent in Tampa) and Bader as backups for Buxton. Pretty disingenuous to use Outman and Keirsey as an argument. The FO has made efforts to have a decent backup.  If Martin’s post deadline play is an accurate reflection of his talent, neither Keirsey nor Outman would be the backup plans. Why did you forget that Martin plays center field?

I'm sorry but I'm not really understanding what your point is as a response to what I commented.

My comment promotes the idea that the Twins need better talent to compete. I should have stated that more clearly perhaps.

When people suggest that career years from various currently rostered Twins would be enough to compete in the AL Central because we should also expect decline from the players on the other teams, that is not a viable plan.

Today, as I type this reply, the Twins are well behind other AL Central teams in talent. This is 100% an opinion. People can easily disagree with that thought and I respect those opinions. My opinion is based on what I saw in August and September.

Your comment attacked the notion that Detroit will regress and Cleveland with their pitchers. That is a really different way to say the Twins need better talent. Really, really different way. The Twins don’t have a Skubal. Lopez and Ryan though more than make up for it because as the season played out last season, they really don’t have a proven 2 starter. There lineup consists of non star players. Torres is a free agent. The rest had career years. You want to have an opinion that is better, so be it. There is data out there. You want to ignore it, so be it You want to be negative on the talent of the Twins, so be it. Why bother to follow a team when all you want to do is be negative?

Suggesting that my wanting the Twins to improve their talent is negative, so be it.

I don't believe that expecting or hoping for regression from your opponents is a plan. I'm always interested in other ideas. It is a little weird to attack disagreement as negative. I have proposed a number of positive paths forward for the Twins. Doing nothing doesn't work well though. As. far as being a fan, I have been a fan since 1961, worked for them at one time, had season tickets, and followed the team through some rough patches. These times, too, shall pass.

Every team always want to improve their talent. Did not say it was a plan to hope for regression. If you looked at the through game stats over the season, most of the Detroit hitters fell off as the years went on. There is a reality to regression. It really did happen with the Tigers. That is not hoping, Sorry that me mentioning it causes you such anguish,
