Ok, Wolves have dispatched the LeBron/Luka Lakers, and the Jimmy/Draymond/Steph Warriors.

Can they get past the Thunder?  It’s been 34 years since a major MN men’s team has made a finals appearance…

They definitely CAN get past the Thunder. Will they? I give them a decent shot but the Thunder are clear favorites. The Wolves match up well with bigs and they match up well in depth. Hard to say what chance that gives them in a seven-game series.

Edwards heads to the locker room after rolling an ankle near the end of the first period. Classic Minnesota

I haven’t watched a lick of the wolves in years but I’ll watch any MN team making a run. Gotta ask, do they just always chuck 3’s like this? It’s really bad

I only trust Julius Randle shooting 3s

Yeah, I’ve never seen a team shoot so many 3s 😂 is this kind of normal now for the nba? I don’t know that I’ve seen them even attemp more than a couple FGs that weren’t off the rebound

Very much so. The Wolves live and die by the 3 point shot

I really followed the wolves in their Garnett days. Then just stopped when they got really bad 😂 I don’t know how I’d feel about them breaking the Minnesota championship drought. I hope it does happen but just like with the wild, I wouldn’t get too excited about it.

I took a near 15 year break from them after they traded KG. They were the laughing stock out of every MN sports team. It’s crazy to think how much they’ve turned things around since 2022.

As MN fans, we’re desperate for any championship. But I’m with you… I’ve enjoyed watching the Wolves again, but a championship for them will be 2nd fiddle to a Vikings Super Bowl or a Twins WS title.

I’ve noticed this whenever ESPN broadcasts NHL playoff games too. Their audio stinks - they mask the background noise too much on the broadcaster’s headsets and the arena sounds dead when in fact it’s not.

Wolves have had a couple chances to build up a big lead and just can’t do it

There’s a fine line between rest and rust. Wolves are rusty tonight after 5 full days off. But hopefully that means OKC is worn down later after playing a 7 game series

14 point deficit. Woof. Maybe I shouldn’t have tuned in like I was doing in the earlier rounds

Two tough defenses. OKC has been tenacious all night, and once the 3s started dropping, it was all over.

It’s going to be a boring series if every game just boils down to perimeter shooting.

I think someone on the wolves needs to give a huge shove* to someone on OKC early in game 2. The physicality is ridiculous.

*body shove

Turnovers and 3 point percentage will decide this series.

Let's hope the NBA put in a call that the gritty basketball of the first two rounds is acceptable with SGA too.  McDaniels got at least two fouls that were laughably bad.

Looks like OKC is the better team to me after 5 quarters, not knowing anything about either club. Way too many empty trips for the wolves. Turnovers and misses.
