Orange 1st Base?

Attended Div I college game in Boca Raton, Florida, on Sunday.  Florida Atlantic University (my alma mater) vs Bradley.

1st base had a double bag, one in fair territory and an orange one in foul.  Say what?

New rule in Div I in 2025. Orange bag is there for the runner, thereby reducing collusions at 1st.

This is a good idea, wonder if and when we'll see in in the minor leagues. Much better idea than the ABS challenge system. I really don't like the challenge, just something else to stop the momentum and flow of the game

This is part of the reason MLB increased the size of the base.

Not sure why MLB never did this. It reduces the collisions, stepping on the first base foot/ankle, and reduces the runner interfering with the throw to first from catcher.  It only makes sense.
