There has to be a reason for it. The opposing manager is going to take that bait every time. 

For a team that works this hard to prevent the left handed batter from facing the left handed pitcher... they sure seem to do everything they can to invite the left hander to enter the game against them. 

I just don't understand the reason for the bait... because the fish it catches is going to start smelling by the ninth inning.
