Dave Borton Verified Member Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 No, he is ambidextrous starting pitcher at Mississippi State. Throws 99mph from the left side; 95 from the right. Has just one glove. Good story at MLB. https://www.mlb.com/news/jurrangelo-cijntje-ambidextrous-pitcher-mississippi-state Doctor Gast, Craig Arko and Riverbrian 3
Jocko87 Verified Member Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 Theoretically at least, a 400 inning pitcher would be incredibly valuable. Or, could still pitch on one side while Tommy Johning the other. Risk mitigation! I'd draft him. Rigby, Riverbrian, nicksaviking and 1 other 1 3

What would stop a team from letting a guy with MLB talent in both arms occupy two spots in a 5 man rotation? Doctor Gast 1

Rod Carews Birthday Verified Member Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 Think of the havoc that he could wreak by switching hands between batters or even during a batter. That would surely keep the hitters off balance. However, it also might keep him off balance and out of control as well!

Forget about this dude, I want to see a pitcher who throws with both hands at the same time. Think of the force you'd get behind such a pitch. Mike Sixel 1

MLB rules permit switching hands between batters. However, he must declare which hand he will use exclusively on a batter. No switching hands between that single batter.
Doctor Gast Verified Member Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 Very interesting, I'd certainly draft him. His dad was a catcher in the Netherlands, how cool!
