Said my part. Yes love and follow all Baseball stats.

But what makes Baseball the most Beautiful Game has been lucky to have seen a Joe Mauer swing of the bat?

Whether he got a hit or not never mattered?...the Beauty was in this swing?

Thanks Joe...your brilliant talent has just been immortilized?!

Hall of Fame is forever!!

Fully deserved. I wasn't convinced he'd get in first time but delighted he has. Good to see the voters were prepared to overlook the rather injury hit and mediocre end to his career and recognize his incredible achievements in his prime. One of the best catchers to ever play the game and glad I watched him live a couple of times when I've been to Target Field.

Also love the fact he's going to the be 7th member of the HOF going in as a Twin.

Yeah, I was wondering if he would be the youngest HOF member. He might be the youngest for a couple years. I know Miggy is a day older. Incidentally, Joe was born on my birthday.

Sandy Koufax was 36 when elected, but I think Mauer is currently the youngest.

Not only the youngest current living HOFer, but also the first one in that famous St Paul foursome who will wear a Twins cap on his plaque in Cooperstown.  Well deserved, Joe!!  I'm sure your Dad and Grampa are smiling from above!

First Hall of Famer born in the 1980s and the first one younger than me.

...that doesn't make me feel old!

I have never been more proud of something I had so little to do with. Congrats Joe. Watching your whole career has been one of my greatest pleasures. I started crying half way through the Beltre announcement.

Thinking of my biggest Joe memories is hard for a lot of reasons, because everything seems to much together in my head, and I tend to think of him as his whole career/person. But thew few acute memories that come to mind:

  1. The time he played right field in 2011.
  2. When he took that super borderline pitch in Boston and then hit the next one for a 3 run HR in the top of the 9th. I forget what year, but that whole at bat was insane.
  3. When he stopped a news conference about his knees to tell Sid his tape recorder stopped.

Good times. Tickets are bought and hotel rooms are reserved. See you there buddy.
