Azviking101 Verified Member Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 Who do we think falls off the roster with Ober being added? My initial thought was that I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Stevenson seeing as how Houston will likely only have one lefty, Valdez pitching and he actually has worse splits (by a hair) against lefties. I feel like there is going to be a lot less pinch hitting in this series and the young lefties should stay in the game until defensive replacement at the end. I was thinking Funderburk has some value as another lefty since Houston’s best two hitters (Alvarez and Tucker) are lefties. However, Alvarez crushes both sides and there’s no situation where I want Funderburk facing him and Tucker actually has better splits against lefties (crushes them actually) Even though I doubt he will be used with Castro on the bench I think Stevenson is safe, unless they feel like Buxton could be playable. I haven’t heard anything about him practicing so I highly doubt it. My guess is Funderburk misses the roster.
BiggestRoccoFan Verified Member Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 I want to beat the Stros just for the fact that I was on a podcast yesterday with some Astros fans and they kept calling Joe Ryan Jon Ryan. After about 10 minutes I corrected them and called them bozos. They think they are going to steamroll right through us.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted October 11, 2023 Author Posted October 11, 2023 Well, going in to the game Tuesday, the Twins needed to beat a good Astros team twice. Now going into Wednesday, they STILL need to beat a good Astros team twice. And evidently, the Astros aren’t planning on going quietly. Come on boys, defend your home turf! Let’s see the Duran walk-up in the cover of darkness tonight! Twins_Fan_in_NJ and ashbury 2
