Does anyone have access to something that tells if Hicks is back to taking third strikes a lot lately? That would take him back to Week 1, if so.

A bit of useless off-topic musing, spearmint certs and summer shandy don't mix.

Then you should do what I do. Don't mix them.

I root for the Twins to win every nite.

I know you sneak in the occasional fist pump for the White Sox.

In that case my earlier post may have been redundant. Never mind.

But then I wouldn't have minty fresh breath.

Wouldn't want to run all the ladies off TD.

Your timing was impeccable.

I was literally typing it at the time. I though maybe I should help Hicks with a rant too, but there is only so much magic in these fingers.

Judging by most nights, that is the rest of us's job.

Sad that Hicks might benefit from chatting with the Florimonster on getting better wood on the ball.

Maybe we just need more deer antler spray?

I'm not so upset with taking a close pitch for strike 3. Guys who walk a lot take a lot of close pitches, even with 2 strikes.

I'm more concerned with guys who can't find a pitch they won't swing at when they get to 2 strikes.

This. It's a lot easier to teach a guy to start swinging than to stop.

I looked just now at his overall K rate, and it seems to be dropping steadily - nearly 50% of his PA the first horrendous two weeks, 30% the following week when he started getting walks, 25% for a while after that, and now hovering more around 20% the past three weeks. He'll probably always strike out a lot, but at this lower rate I'm less concerned about whether strike-three in particular is looking or swinging.

There's a woman behind home plate with a couple of great personalities

In 1957 there was a movie about a woman named Eve, who had three. Is this what you mean?

Just be wary of early-onset puberty if your kids share the computer...

Wow, I forgot how much I enjoy home runs when the Twins hit them. It's been so long. Go Twins! I would say that Hicks HR would have comfortably left Target Field too.

When he finds himself in times of trouble,

Brother Gardy looks at second.

Speaking words of wisdom:

Bat him second.

And in the hour of darkness,

He is looking right at second base,

Speaking words of wisdom,

Bat him second.

Bat him second, Bat him second,

Bat him second, Bat him second,

Whisper words of wisdom,

Bat him second.

And when the broken-hearted fanbase,

Living in the Twin Cities,

Ask Ron for an answer,

Bat him second.

For though they may be parted,

There is still a chance that they will see,

There will be an answer,

Bat him second.

Bat him second, Bat him second,

Bat him second, Bat him second,

Always the same answer,

Bat him second.

Oh Man... Let it Be... Just let it Be...

The results haven't necessarily been there yet, but overall I'm growing more and more encouraged with Hicks. He seems to be relaxing a bit, taking more and more good ABs, and hasn't been overmatched at the plate, IMO. He's a guy that you have to get out within the strike zone for the most part, which to me is a big sign he'll eventually hit.

I know a lot of folks want to send him down, but for my money as long as he's playing every day, I'm good with him learning in the big leagues.

Too late... There is a Snepp Marking on the fence outside TD that warns em of no entry.
