It probably would have been Ed Julien had he not missed a few weeks for the WBC. His absence improves the candidacy of Larnach, Miranda, and Castro.

I think they had to wait for the final stat padding today before deciding on the winner.

I don't think Larnach or Miranda are eligible, since they were on the 40 going into camp.

Julien is a candidate since he hasn’t made his debut. So is Willi Castro (not on 40-man)

My bad -- I didn't realize not being on the 40 man was a requirement! It almost has to be one of Castro, Dobnak, or Coulombe (has a non-Twin ever won before?) if we're looking at non-40 man guys.

Or a rookie who hasn’t played at all in the major leagues (Julien for example).
